More details here:

The thought of a team actually *selecting* its opponent is something I cannot wrap my brain around. That (the concept, not the brain) is positively alien to me.

I do wonder, however, if this means they would go back to a 154-game regular season ?

Sounds pretty gimmicky. The XFL is probably thinking why didn't we think of this

So the top seeded teams would be inactive for almost a week before their first playoff game. Is that really a good thing?

14 out of 30 teams in the playoffs? I guess the Mariners might even get in once a decade.

Yeah, that's weird because I was told by several here that it was impossible to even have a three game WC series given the division winners would have too much time off.

No idea who made this new playoff format proposal, but Rob is responsible for releasing it, so I’ll direct this to you, Rob Manfred. Your proposal is absurd for too many reasons to type on twitter and proves you have absolutely no clue about baseball. You’re a joke.

14 out of 30 teams in the playoffs ? Sounds like the NBA playoffs where almost everybody makes the playoffs, NBA ( Non Basic Achievers ) Sorry ,,,,,,,,,At least the bottom half of the teams that make the playoffs.

If they're going to let 14 teams in the playoffs it should be because there are 40 teams in the league.

With the huge influx of international talent there are many more talented players in the game than in years past.

At some point adding teams would water things down too much, but I would rather play another 2 or 3 teams than play the same teams 15 times a year.

If it happens and we can't make the playoffs in 2022 with 14 teams making it, JD will no longer be our GM obviously.
