Re: 4/23 Game Thread Hancock vs. Newcomb

I’m thinking anybody on the roster (including most pitchers) could hit higher than .086 against lefties. The fact that Solano USED TO BE a decent hitter shouldn’t get him a spot on the roster. Once again Jerry and Co fail to understand that that when you dumpster dive it means someone else put them ...

Tyler Locklear with a 3-run double and a walk tonight.

If he's not up here for Solano by the next home stand I'm gonna fkn riot.

Solano is 3 for 35... .086/.083/.169 with 12 K's. OPS+ of -56.

And, somehow, we still have zero MOTO hitters at the MLB level.
Heaven forbid they trade any of these prospects for hitters that could help while we still have the best starting rotation in MLB...

Re: ST Game Thread 1 - Fri 21 Feb

I like the guy. I like his intensity. "Intensity" is a nice way of describing Seth's posts. I'm always thinking someone may need to talk him off the ledge every couple innings. Baseball is a game of up and downs, with really good teams winning about 60% of the time. Really good hitter fail 7/10 tim...

We don't have a DH.
Garver, Haniger, Solano, Locklear, Shenton
Those FIVE combined for -0.1 fWAR last season. We don't have a DH.
I'm sure in Jerry's mind the fact that we are paying Garver means we are set at DH, production be damned

My theory is that Vogelbomb works for the M's. Jerry, is that you?

Re: The worst thing about the 54% model that nobody ever mentions

What other business in the world's motto is "Strive for slightly above average?" None of us are getting any younger, and sadly many of us will be going to our graves without seeing the M's in a World Series. The infuriating part is, many of us will go to our graves without the M's TRYING to go to a ...

Re: HOF thread

The whole HOF voting thing is not based on how talented a particular player may be. Since voters can only vote for ten players each year, the odds are that at least one voter will say "Player A is a lock to get in, so I'm using one of my votes on borderline player B instead" It all comes down to who...

Well, the A’s continue to get better signing Gio Urshela to a one year deal: https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/seattle_mariners_al_west_rivals_athletics_sign_gio_urshela_to_1_year_contract/s1_17042_41456992 So, the A’s got better, the Angels got better, the Astros got better, and the Rangers ...
