Strasburg? Never felt a lot of remorse over missing out on Strasbourg. At least the mariners aren't on the hook for that extension

Here if you redraft it, the second pick is Nolan Arenado

Reed was a 2nd round draft pick who was the prize in the Freddy Garcia trade. He absolutely tore up the minors. He hit .3.73 in 2003 combining time between A+ and AA including hitting .409 in 66 games in AA. The M's traded for him in 2004 and he got a September call up where he hit .397 in 16 games. I was convinced he was going to be come a stud.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 1:07 amWas Reed a highly regarded prospect? Don't remember much about him. Clement is one of several catchers including Zunino and another guy i forgot from about 12 years ago.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 7:28 pmNo Jeremy Reed? What about the Clement kid that was supposed to be a middle of the order bat at Catcher?

LOL, well, at that point? I don't think we had THAT many shitty non playoff seasons yet. But, in hindsight? Something tells me the A's lost on purpose.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 2:51 pm
Come on dude what kind of message would that send to thd team if you don't do everything possible to win every game even meaningless ones in a lost season? I mean the players might take that as a sign that they're playing for a loser organization that doesn't give a fuck about winning championships.![]()

Yeah, i guess Bavasi and whoever the manager was at the time didn't want to tamper with that winning clubhouse culture they did so much to cultivate lol.

Little pissed off that there wasn't an option for:
All the Above
All the Above

Al Chambers and Jeff Clement are at the top of my list.
