No Jeremy Reed? What about the Clement kid that was supposed to be a middle of the order bat at Catcher?

Was Reed a highly regarded prospect? Don't remember much about him. Clement is one of several catchers including Zunino and another guy i forgot from about 12 years ago.

Reed was a 2nd round draft pick who was the prize in the Freddy Garcia trade. He absolutely tore up the minors. He hit .3.73 in 2003 combining time between A+ and AA including hitting .409 in 66 games in AA. The M's traded for him in 2004 and he got a September call up where he hit .397 in 16 games. I was convinced he was going to be come a stud.

Come on dude what kind of message would that send to thd team if you don't do everything possible to win every game even meaningless ones in a lost season? I mean the players might take that as a sign that they're playing for a loser organization that doesn't give a fuck about winning championships.
