He is killing but for every Tork breakout there are 20 JK continuing to suck scenarios.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 10:42 amThinking about Spencer Torkelson, the first corner infielder to be taken number one overall in 20 years. And that was based on his power. I have no idea how they might compare, though Spenser did go to college.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 10:20 pmSure. But my point was simply that I expect him to fall in the rankings a bit more than he has so far. With his brother, it was the combination of the bat really breaking out in his senior year AND the promise of being able to play shortstop that pushed him to the #1 overall pick. And I'm not hearing or reading anything like that with Ethan. It could still come though.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Apr 20, 2025 8:47 amYeah, Hollidays feature is power, does it really matter where your your power guy plays? Vlad just got a $500 mil contract playing first base
Spenser had been struggling but it sure looks like he's broken out this season, 288 /.392 /.638/ 1.029 with seven home runs. That's really interesting to me, he was getting written off as being on the scrap heap last season. What a pickup that would have been. I think the forum is pretty cynical terms of breakouts

I don't see how you pass on an INFer hitting almost .400 with a 1.277 OPS in a power 5 conference. Oops I guess the Beavs are no longer power 5.

Another big guy
. He is really big for shortstop — listed at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s five-to-10 pounds stronger than that already. There’s just no way a guy with that frame sticks at short; he’s bigger than Corey Seager, who has become the new standard for the Large Man Shortstop line of players, taller than Carlos Correa, thicker than Elly De La Cruz. De La Cruz is one of only eight players 6-5 or taller to play shortstop for even one game in the majors, and only he and Oneil Cruz have played 40 or more games there.
Re: 2025 MLB Draft - Mariners with Pick #3
Has there ever been a 6-5 220-pound dude at 2b? DJ Lemahieu I've always thought was huge and he's 6-3 220.
Just glanced over Arquette's 2025 numbers. Yup, he looks legit. 25 bb, 2 ibb, 10 hbp and just 29k. 15 bombs in 39 gms
hits in 32 of 39 gms, multi-hit in 15 gms including a 6-6 game
If he has a good arm, isn't he a 3b guy? A Troy Glaus type?

And with that size, he probably won't stick at 3B either.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 1:41 amAnother big guy
