7 STRAIGHT WOW YESSSSS!!!! This team is just on another level!!!!! Others are stepping up Hancock kept damage limited. This offense is shockingly carrying this team wow!!!! Feels so good to have an offense and when our pitching is fully healthy wow!!! Other then Mets we are the hottest team in the game. No Polanco today and others stepped up. Well he popped up but still feels good he was not needed. Rivas is a pure great player. Really helps his team out all u gotta do is the Lil things and he does that. Jp is our new leadoff hitter. So great to see him really come back strong this season. Actual good hitting coaches can fix this offense!! Just needed Edgar and Braves long time coach. Dehart and co were horrible and it proves it was them!!!
Seth, that bit in red is a terrific point. The hiring of the long-time Braves' hitting coaches Kevin Seitzer and Bobby Magallanes might have been unheralded and seemed underwhelming at the time, but it seems they pride themselves on playing simple stuff.

On leaving the Braves Seitzer said, “It was the hardest season of my life, because guys were trying so hard and couldn’t get going, and I couldn’t get them to (not press). If they can find somebody to get these guys to not try so hard, that needs to be the guy they hire. You can talk about mechanics until the cows come home, but this (struggles this season) was all between the ears.”

That sounds like a very familiar problem, eh?

Its still too early to say if these hires were the masterstroke of the season so far, but if these two can turn Julio to gold on top of the influence they already seem to have implemented, then maybe they were the best move of the off-season.

The boys were really disappointed about the fire at Heathrow. They really wanted to meet you. I built you up as a cross between Winston Churchill and Ricky Gervais which is very accurate. You MUST be there next March my friend!

Interesting how they are running more, Wilson claimed they would and they actually are. And it's not just the usual suspects, it's the other ones, Garver and Cal. Seems Eric young gets the credit, he's made a real difference. Setting up situations for a steal whenever a player gets on base. Wondering how valuable he's made himself

There are IMO four possible reasons why the Mariners are performing better at the plate so far this season...

1: they have faced sub-par pitching
2. the hitting coaches are doing a great job
3. they fixed the batter's eye
4. players (e.g. Polanco, Crawford) are healthier

I think that's an excellent point, and as you said, kind of an under the radar move when it comes to the average fan. But combined with the work Edgar is doing, those additions from the Braves are definitely paying big dividends. It seems to be a completely different approach for the most part, and I'm loving it. If only they can find a little of that pixie dust to throw on Julio.

Absolutely, March 2026 I am going "all-in" on getting over there for the full experience.

Still can't believe that shocker at Heathrow, either. I am still awaiting British Airways and American Airlines to refund my dosh. Bastards. Churchill and Gervais - quite the compliment, sir !

He's currently the director of hitting for the NY Yankees who lead MLB in a number of hitting categories. He doesn't seem horrible there.
