With the successful approach our offense is using, he's not going to fit in. He sucks.

Wow, Jerry got a player almost as good as Kelenic without giving anything up. Very impressive...

You never know when a talented player that hasn't lived up to promise and ranking finally stops being a diamond in the rough and gets polished.
There have been far more that have failed, of course, but maybe Edgar and Seitzer can tap into his potential and get it to blossom.

Jared Kelenic - high hopes, unlimited potential, can't miss.....Failure
Taylor Trammell - ditto, same-o, a sure thing....................Failure

The list goes on and on. Successful baseball players with careers lasting 8-10-15 years is incredibly short compared to those that never reach the Majors.

So, not holding my breath but give the poor guy a chance. We gave Robles, an underperforming, former hot prospect a chance. He was great. Hope he comes back from his shoulder healthy and holds on to RF for a few years and shines.

Nothing would please me more than for switch-hitting Leody Taveras to succeed and shove it down the Texass Ranger's throats.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

Leody Taveras has posted a .240/.291/.370/.661 line with 72 SB, an 85 OPS+ and 5.0 bWAR (5.0 fWAR) in 1,825 career plate appearances over 505 games.

Victor Robles had posted a .236/.311/.356/.667 line with 70 SB, an 81 OPS+ and 6.5 bWAR (4.6 fWAR) in 1,834 career plate appearances over 530 games when he joined the Mariners last June.

The chances of catching lightning in a bottle twice are slim, but it's fun to speculate.

Taveras' record at T-Mobile in 26 previous games - and considering he might have to play 63 more games there

.192/ .250/ .321/ .571 with 3 HR
This season in 8 AB .000/ .000/ .000/ .000

The M's are taking on around $3.7MM according to that link to Trade Rumors by making this claim. It seems like the Rangers were ready to move on from him and go with Evan Carter. Let's hope they live to regret it. Its another attempt at a "shrewd signing" - I think he will do alright, but nothing spectacular.

Victor Robles and Leody Taveras were everyday center fielders on World Series champions, Robles with the Washington Nationals in 2019 and Taveras with the Texas Rangers in 2023.

Let's hope they gain more postseason experience.
