This franchise doesn't care, so why should the players? It's their job, and it is painfully obvious, and has been for many MANY years, that winning isn't the objective. So why should it be the objective of the employees? It almost doesn't matter who the ownership is, it must be the damn city. Jeff Nelson complained about it and got traded, Pinella complained about it and got traded, Cal complained about it and had to give a public apology. We've had a few different managers just up and quit.

This organization is fine being mediocre and profitable. So why shouldn't the guys that play for the organization?

I've never seen so many players on one team that consistently perform well below expectations and seem utterly complacent about it as i have with the past 3 or 4 Mariner teams. There is a sickness in their mentality.
