Re: Another trade deadline plan.
One of the funnier things the M's could do is trade for Luis Robert to only hit against lefties.
He's hitting .268/.406/.464/.870... with 16 K's and 12 walks... good for a 152 OPS+ vs lefties.

He could be the platoon for Raley, and Calzone?D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 2:19 amSolano for Robert. LolSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Wed Jun 25, 2025 7:55 pmOne of the funnier things the M's could do is trade for Luis Robert to only hit against lefties.

But it would be pretty hard to get excited about a guy hitting .185 with a 65 OPS+.

Apparently we missed the part where I said that he'd be a pure platoon in right cause he's one of the better hitters in the league against lefties...
I think the most glaring needs are now 3B, 2B, Reliever...

I present to you the Baseball Savant pages of Cole Young and Ben Williamson.
Yikes.

On trading for Suarez or Nador
The Arizona Diamondbacks continue to tell suitors they aren’t ready to sell after going 14-9 in June, but they play 20 games in July against teams with winning records beginning with a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants.
And here's what Buster Olney of ESPN told the Refuse to Lose podcast this Thursday:
Someone I spoke with yesterday (Wednesday) about the Diamondbacks told me Mike Hazen, their general manager, 'Yeah, he'll never sell. ' Like that's not in his DNA. As long as the team is competitive, he's going to want to ride it out. So, you can speculate with me me about how Suarez and (Josh) Naylor would be a great fit for them, but we don't even know if the Diamondbacks are actually going to be out there selling in what looks to be a really thin buyer's market.

Our amazing farm system and the top 2 prospects that we call up are both OPSing in the 500s...

Cole Young looks sharp on both sides of the ball already to me. Really low Babip luck and jesus, if they run the bases in front of him, he's got a double and some RBI after that near HR, not a single
