Bronx Busted game thread
Re: Bronx Busted game thread
I still feel our problems are primarily due to management not getting the job done during the off season. Look at what those FA first basemen are doing for example. I'm pretty sure there was another left handed power reliever out there too. It also looks like we have banked too much on Julio growing into a dominant hitter which doesn't look good at all right now. We also really need Miller to get healthy because, with all due respect, Evans simply doesn't have a major league level heater and he' NOT the second coming of Greg Maddox.

The philosophy is out dated, and management doesn’t care. Throwing your hands up in confusion at the deadline every year because you can’t add to a flawed roster that you went cheap with in the off season? It works, every fucking time.AlvinDavisFan21 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 1:27 pmI feel bad for all of the Mariners fans that have stood by this team during years of suffering and losing. I am a 45+ year fan and last night was one of the worst losses ever. I have said many times this season I am checking out, but this time it may be true. Someone mentioned earlier on this thread it is never easy. Why can't it be? Baseball gods don't like the Mariners.
There is more buzz about the Mariners in the month or two leading up to the deadline than there ever is in the Hot Stove. This team will perpetually be about making money and competing for the last playoff spot. And they won’t even care that it’s bullshit.
The problem is they can’t go on runs because the roster is too bad. So? Every little mini run of winning four of six or five and seven…is followed by a long losing streak bringing the, right back to .500. That is what below average teams do. Baseball is full of real bad teams, or this one would be well out of the race by now. They will never be better than almost good enough. You have to spend in the off season to accomplish that.

Considering that one pitch to Wells was strike 3, the game was over and we won 5-3. I don't care, we in actual fact won this game. Also, we're heroes.

I don't think you will ever have to worry about that happening. lolseattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 2:21 amNope. He's a putz. I don't want him closing game 7 in a world series. That's for sure.

And that was over a span of how many years? They would need to add that much just this season just to have a goid chance of making the playoffs and competing with the Tigers, Astros, and Yankees.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 2:31 pmMunoz, Arozarena, Castillo, Canzone were added in deadline deals

Sure, you don't build a roster at the deadline but I'm not sure about a narrative that that's throwing your hands in the air in confusion every year. Dipoto has been focused on adding long term talent at the deadline as opposed to rentals and he's done it. Sorry, it just doesn't strike me as confusion. Hate on dipoto to your hearts content but I don't think he's confused. I think he's calculating.

Fucking
Playoff
Appearance
Since
2001
It's not good enough Donn, Jesus H. Christ. Munoz is a very good reliever, Arozarena is an adequate OFer with a very streaky bat, Castillo was a stud and is now a pretty damn good starter and Canzone is JustAGuy (JAG), just like most of the fucking roster. Those four are what you have come up with since this FO took over and we decided to "rebuild"? Yipee.
You can't expect to take a team that is around .500 at the deadline and add enough impact to win a division. SO, since they have to be smart enough to realize this, all these fuckers care about is contending for a WC birth and more than likely playing on the road with hopes to even move on. AND? That strategy has resulted in that happening exactly one fucking time, yet you defend it. Fucking A, fans like you and the bullshit reporting here are why this can continue. IT"S NOT FUCKING GOOD ENOUGH.
We did a rebuild so in the year 2025 we could be three games over .500 on July 11th? I almost hope we get swept by Detroit, so this band of fuck ups can spend the All Star break wondering why this organization went through a rebuild to sit at .500. It's no longer a rebuild, it's a long term strategy to be middle of the road for eternity, because they know that just being good enough means they can spend less but still get people to come to the games. And I have to read bullshit in here defending it at listen and read the local reporters defend it and bite their tongue because in this town? We need to be happy with fucking mediocrity.
