The Padres.

Mason Miller, Ryan O’Hearn, Ramon Laureano, JP Sears, and a depth catcher. I guess they are going after Dylan Cease.
Dylan Cease has played for the Padres all year. :?

Jerry seeing the cheaters getting even better. My guess he is staying put. He thinks we have a ws team with the weakest shittiest bench out there. Not even a playoff team right now. Unless Geno and others really step up.

Every single year there is shit that you were counting on that falls by the waste side: Last year we had the #1 starters in all of baseball and wanted to toss Luis for a bat. Now, he's our #2 best starter by WAR and we would be lost without him.

Fk all, Nostradamus
No doubt, and that is why you use the deadline to make moves. This group of dipshits sat on their hands all offseason and expected the team to magically improve? No, they didn't care if it improved, because as long as they make money and are in the hunt? They win.

Nothing you have said justifies doing jack shit in the off season to get better. The deadline should be used to improve, but that doesn't excuse doing nothing in the off season. At least it shouldn't. Excuse it all you want, but this team was grossly undermanned for five months, and all because they did NOTHING in the offseason to improve a team that wasn't good enough last year.

Raise your hand if you knew Cal was going to be an MVP type player this year? I doubt anyone did. Imagine how far out of the race we'd be if he wasn't. They are lucky to be in the Hunt with a chance to get better at the deadline. Hats off for going for it now, but I'm not going to excuse them for constructing a flawed roster in March just because they improved it at the end of July.

What does this mean exactly? Are you not gonna invite Jerry to your Christmas party?

Completely agree except I don't think you can include Cal in there as someone who hasn't done their part. He's been carrying the team on his shoulders the entire season despite being pitched around the majority of the time.

I hate Jerry, and I hate Stanton even more. But that being said, no one can complain about them not doing their part and making an effort this trade deadline. As you said, now it's up to the players to step up and start putting forth a little more effort. And it wouldn't hurt for Wilson to start holding some these guys accountable as well. I get the impression he's a little too buddy buddy with them and that's never a good thing.
You are a spaz
What an intelligent and well thought out response. Did you stay up all night thinking up that one? I guess I really shouldn't expect anything more coming from you though. I see now why others give you such a hard time on here. Oh and by the way, fuck you very much.
I go to work. Do you? This shit where I view poster like you and a lot off assholes posting shit where they say: "If I were Jerry I would march right into John's face and demand that we go get Soto, Ohtani, and Judge." And all you basement boyz claiming the 54%, and how horrible all of his moves are, "He can't evaluate talent" and all that BS. And yet Cal, Julio, Woo, Gilbert, etc, etc, are all due to JD.

I go to work. I adhere to our company's SOP. I may or may not agree that all of the boxes I click during the day are the best use of my time, but I do them. It is abundantly clear that Jerry has been regularly given his own boxes to check with running this team. He's done a great job of navigating those constraints. Every year there are failures and breakthroughs. And almost every year the problem areas are diagnosed and generally speaking they are treated accordingly.

Why do you hate JD? Is it because you have boxes to click and you don't like to click them?

Haters going to hate

Oh, and as for my detractors

We are done. Sadly dont think its enough. Jerry has to trully believe that. Brought Geno in as a nostalgic thing. This team is not built for Texas teams. Shocked if we dont lose this series to Rangers. Let the season totally collapse.

I don't have any problems with the Mariners signing FAs except for the understanding that they will cap spending so you don't want an albatross contract weighing the team down. But, otherwise I don't care what they spend. Why would I?
I only mentioned it because you did. You spouted off how much money Alonso makes as to why they shouldn't sign him. Why are you that concerned with their pocket book? They aren't concerned about yours, nor are they concerned if you get to watch the Mariners in the post season. The Rangers aren't handing over their rings because they spent too much to earn them. Neither are the Dodgers.

If I have the figures right, they are spending $5M on Suarez, $4M on Naylor and $1M on Ferguson - the big 2 will be Free Agents at the end of the season.

So $10M for the remaining 53 games.

I guess Michael is questioning this strategy? It's not the way to run a team aiming to be successful long-term. That's what Dipoto himself has proclaimed he's trying to do. Suarez and Naylor won't be here next year as they will clearly go for Free Agency. JD did little-to-nothing in the offseason, hoped and prayed that we would still be in contention so he could try this tactic at the deadline. Its a plan that had very little chance of coming to fruition - but there is no question that it has worked this time around.

He's gone to the casino and held on to his $10M in blackjack chips all season and waited for the deadline to place them. Just because the one hand he played was a blackjack doesn't make him a genius. He has been relying on picking up a star player or two from a team who are not contending who also just happens to be in the last year of contract.

This won't happen every year, but I suppose the best you can say is that he's played the cards he was dealt exceptionally well. And I have to applaud him and say right now he's played them well.

Whatever the thoughts - we have a chance to be successful, If we go 33-20, I reckon we're in and 35-18, we might even pinch the division.

Lets get behind the team for 53 games - we can do this.
