A Castillo trade is more likely this winter than before. His full no trade clause was only good till end of 2025 and now he would only get a 1 mil reassignment bonus
No one is taking Castillo unless you pay most of his salary.

We are paying JP Crawford $12 mill ?

He cant even throw a simple ground ball to 1B without causing the fielder to stretch like Nadia Comăneci and tidy up his waywardness.
This year J.P. Crawford posted 2.8 fWAR, valued at $22.4 million:

Crawford benefited from great picks by his first basemen, but Crawford was charged with only five throwing errors:

Nine shortstops had more throwing errors than Crawford this season. Five more tied Crawford with five throwing errors.

Total = 134.79 M for 28 Roster spots
M's Payroll for 2025 was around 165 Million. So unless they increase significantly they only have about 30 Million to spend. It will take 30 Million just to resign Naylor and Polanco. I predict that there are going to be a ton of disappointed M's fans when they see the way this off season plays out.
Per Cot's, the M's will have a payroll of $127,822,381 for the traveling 26 man roster on opening day, 2026. Where did you get your numbers? I'm willing to bet the difference is in the projected arb dollars. A difference of almost $7 million is very significant.

Cot's has the opening day 2026 40-man payroll at $130,492,181.

Garver is a free agent which seems to open up a spot for Harry Ford and, I assume, means the M’s freed up $12MM.

I disagree , look at pitching value and his durability. He is making 20 million and still has that value or close. They may not get much of a return but assume their goal would be to create salary space

There is room for humour in a forum y'know, harmony. :roll: When someone uses a simile that is often a solid sign of some light relief.

You didn't spend any time researching all that, did you?

Bloody hell. :o :shock:

Go on, I dare you to have a chuckle at this photo from a practice session earlier in the season.

He is going to be 33 and has an ERA+ of 104 over the last 2 years. Who is going to pay 20 Million for an old pitcher who is barely above league average. BTV has him valued at -7.4.
