Judge stands out in right field the whole game, while Cal runs the pitching staff.

No comparison as to who has more influence during a game.

The process is full of it.

Looking at the voting it had nothing to do with East Coast bias.

Quite honestly he could give 2 shits about the award. He wants the team award because Cal is a team guy & Judge is not.

why would you say that about Judge, he's considered a great teammate and a generally nice guy, soft spoken, grounded

He had his first child this year, a daughter, him and his wife. They are taking care of her themselves, no nannies or nurses. That's pretty amazing, along with winning a MVP

The MVP should come down to a vote of every Gm , every writer , and a vote by all 26 players on the active roster of all 30 teams. THat way the majority knows who really deserves it. Not just a few piece of shits.

Not surprised by the result but Cal got robbed.

As I have said before - if the award is really Best Statistical Hitter - than rename it that and give a list of 5-10 metrics that you have to win out to get the award. If that is all people are looking at - then call it that and do it that way. Then there is no need for a vote - you just tally up who won the most categories at the end of the year and declare them the winner the next day.

Most Valuable Player is supposed to mean more than just numbers but in today's day/age, it doesn't. Cal brought wayyyyyyy more value to his team and their season than Judge did. Cal's year was a historic year for his position while Judge, while he had a good year, had a down year from his previous years. Makes no sense.

Well it's the BBWAA award to give, so I guess they get to be the ones to vote on it. That's how I understand it. The leagues did originate the MVP awards but discontinued them because they were viewed as possibly creating discord among players. But the writers just continued to vote for them anyway and to award them

I'm glad Cal didn't get the award. It'll keep him hungry and focused for another big season.
