Greatest thing ever.
Youngest sons 10u travel ball team is 29-15. He's driving the ball batting cleanup, playing great defense, and throwing bullets.
I'll send Uncle Darren a jersey when he gets drafted.
And beyond the baseball.. they're even better.

I rarely post but this made my eyes water a little. Awesome.Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 4:16 pmYep. Wouldn't trade all the early mornings for football and baseball, all the miles traveled, all the headaches, worries and sleepless nights for anything. And now? They hang out with their old man every once in awhile. The best beer of the week is having one with your son. Little moments, that I remember my dad loving and me really not understanding....until now.Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 3:28 pmI have two kids, both in their 20's.
While raising them, I thought it was 2 to many. But now that we are mostly piers, they're great.
But I still say that the best part of kids is practicing to make them.

I paced for the entirety of the State Semi Final, when my son threw a two hitter and we won comfortably! I laid awake the nights before every game, and sometimes lay awake now wondering how or where they are. Again, well worth it. You suffer through every struggle they have, and it becomes all worth it when you get to celebrate their successes.
I still spend a lot of time with my parents, and a lot of the reason why is based on the life lessons I learned about becoming a dad. I read a social media thing the other day that said something like "Growing up is realizing your dad wasn’t being hard on you, he was tryna make sure you could handle life when it hits". Very true.

I have to admit I have extreme bitterness towards my Dad.mostonmike wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 10:52 pmMy joke aside - they are good lads. Every now and again you get them to admit "dad was right" or "should have listened to dad more".... They are the real winning moments.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 9:17 pmWow you've never mentioned them. I had no idea.mostonmike wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 8:57 pmAt the end of the day, someone has to have them!
I’ve got a 24 and a 29-year-old the latter is getting married in 10 weeks, and looking back across the piece, the whole thing is just a 20-year survival course.
If you can come out the other side without having murdered one of them, or the whole family, you’ve won. It’s a success story.![]()
He isn't a bad man, not abusive and took great care of the family but I missed out on the best things in life such as being a fan of the M's and Hawks with him because he would rather win a $3 bet with the neighbor by betting on and rooting for the other team. Just fucking gross.
But far more important than that he said the Alzheimer's drug that could have helped my Mom was too expensive even though Medicare would have paid for the entire thing so now we need to watch her ask my Brother's wife how many kids she has and what their names are all for a little bit of Government money. Oh and then he proudly like said he like his retirement funds earning close to zero interest because he doesn't want to pay any taxes. Holy fuck. How can you be so fucking idiotic.
Yeah I fucked up and have 4 dead kids with 3 different women because the timing wasn't right but at least they never had to experience what I had to.
