Addition by subtraction. If Seattle got ANY value in the pieces back the trade is a homerun.
Have you missed ALL my posts about Smith???????

Pipeline has already moved Boston Smith to the Seattle Top 30 list at #14. Seems like a decent get. Not a sure thing but he's got a chance.

He doesn't have your prototypical power build... very dense and compact at 5'10... but hard to ignore 22 homers over 78 games at the pro level.

Report on him is that he's a very patient, selective hitter... as evidenced by his .450 OBP... but that it sometimes gets him behind in counts because he doesn't swing at pitches he maybe should and leads to a lot of swing and miss later in counts.

I like the swing... it's really compact, power packed.

To me, the big question is are Rob Refschneider and Michael Fucker going to remain on the active roster, and the answer appears to be yes. Sad if true.

There's 0 chance Refsnyder is a Mariner by Tuesday. They will trade for a right handed outfielder.

Rucker is likely optioned when Dominguez is added to the roster.

Oh yeah, that's right, I was thinking Rucker was a lefty.

Apparently our chances of reaching the play-offs and/or winning the division were around 20% - 22%.

Getting rid of Castillo probably improves those figures ever so slightly. He would have started about 8 more games this season*. I'd project we'd probably go 2-6 in those games based on how shit he's been. Perhaps we could go 4-4 now in the games he would have started?

The trade is therefore worth 2 WANK (Wins Above Not Keeping   ) which is a new way of measuring a trade which I've just invented.

*you could go with 3-7 if they moved to 5-man by trading someone else (maybe 2.5 WANK)

This guy sounds clueless...
LOVE this move. Seattle's SPs are stupid good, love their development over there. I would've taken any one of them, and the costs seems light

So he isn't a sure thing like Kelenic and Emerson and Ackley.

He has better stats in A+ and AA than any M's prospect this Century.
