I'll be happy when we start seeing some bats come up that don't suck.

Or don't take a year to get going.

Just an endless stream of average bats coming up through our system. And then we still somehow end up seeing more of the Leo Rivas, Buddy Wilson types than any prospects actually making it.

And feels like we've had the same exact top prospect bats for like 5 years in a row. Except Harry Ford that they traded off.

Kelenic and Julio are the last two to come up before Young and Emerson? And Cal I guess.
It's normal for hitters to take time to develop at the major league level, especially now with the quality of pitching and 8 man bullpens. This is one reason I felt like Canzone was worth waiting on.

What worries me more about the Mariners is this tendency to bring guys up before they've had even a full season's exposure to the upper levels of the minors. The difference in pitching quality between A+ and AA is immense. Pitchers at AA have better stuff, more complete arsenals of pitches, better command, and are working with catchers that really understand how to call games.
Yeah, I guess it's normal.

But then you see teams like the Tigers bring up their young players that just go off.

Dingler and McGonigle have combined for 9.6 fWAR so far with an .848 OPS and a .824 OPS.

Just frustrating watching two meh rookies out there daily when we should be making a playoff push. Glad to see they're both sucking less lately, at least.

Should they have not brought up Emerson? Was it too soon.

It's impossible to know for sure, but in my opinion, he would have benefited from playing the majority of the year in AA or AAA. In my view, most players should get at least 2000 Plate Appearances in the minors, with as much of that as possible at the upper levels. But, I think the current trend around baseball is to bring guys up sooner than that.
