Yeah...this whole deal needs to be fleshed out. We need baseball men like Pinella and Gillick to oversee this operation...not woke carpetbaggers from California like Dipoto, Bavasi, or Chuck Armstrong. This is why we have metro broadcasters like Aaron, Ryan-Rowland, or Angie in the broadcast booth instead of competent baseball announcers like Niehaus, Rizz or Mike Curtin. Jerry has done two things right. Hiring Scott Hunter and not giving up anything of value in trades since Covid. Horrible Roster construction. Horrible at identifying new players in trades and signings. Absurdly stubborn hanging onto those bad players WAY too long. Horrible at PR.

Imagine what the Rays GM or a similarly talented GM could do with $165M vs their $108M payroll. They have 71 wins and we have 56 with over a 50% higher payroll. Pathetic and a massive indictment on Jerry. Sure the players have underperformed but they are Jerry's players.
