2026-27 Hot Stove Thread

Post by Big_Maple » Thu Oct 29, 2026 8:05 pm

It's been mere minutes since the 2026 season ended - which means the 2026 Hot Stove off-season is minutes old.

I'm sort of stealing tehmc's thread here - he had one started for Mariner option decisions. But I figure that one, general, big-assed thread on the off-season was in order. So, apologies tehmc - I was about to start this thread with the news you posted on the M's picking up Munoz and declining options on Miller. Full credit to tehmc for posting this news!

Let the speculation and trades begin!

And, first transaction of the offseason - a real blockbuster. The Mariners pick up outfielder Grant McCray off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.

Ownership will not spend for top free agents after all our pitching is legendary and we have new faces coming up. It will not matter who the new manager is Jerry controls the ship, It will be a yes man. The hype gets air time as the preseason gets rolling and once again after 50 years we will muddle in mediocrity. We might make the playoffs but our shallow depth will never let us get very far.

This team under current ownership will never obtain the holy grail. It’s not the priority after all its worth over a billion by now which was the goal all along

So exciting.... another outfielder that hits worse than Mitch Garver.

Old outfielders never die. They just end their careers with the Mariners.
