I think Someone is going to have to go
We have played so poorly for so long something will have to give. My guess is we will send the pitching coach packing as it doesn't mess up JD's apple cart and gives the appearance that management gives a hoot. I wonder if Bryan Price is available?

I don't think it's much worse than they expected entering the season.
Kikuchi and Gonzales are about what we should have expected. It was our own hype on them we bought into anyways.
Going forward, Dipoto has a 3 and a 4 in the rotation. Everyone else needs to be replaced by the time we're competitive. But they know that.
Shortly I think guys like Leake, Encarnacion, Bruce, possibly Dee Gordon, possibly Tim Beckham and, if we're lucky, Kyle Seager.
Even if Gordon and Seager stay, that clears up a lot of the guys who aren't long term answers and lets the guys who will be around get a shot in the second half.

I can't see Davis getting canned. It's hard to tell just how bad the pitching (and it has been bad) is because of how bad the defense is. It's not just the unearned runs, it's the plays that aren't made that lead to more earned runs given up. Davis has to be given something better to work with.
But don't worry, there will be an exodus of players this summer. It's just too bad we won't get much for them.

Why bother making a move that wouldn't make the team better, or even one that makes it only slightly better?
1. They don't want to win more games at this time.
2. The "shishkaberry & garlic fry" crowd that forms their fan base doesn't care if they win games
3. The savvy baseball fans aren't going to attend more games due to some token act like replacing the pitching coach.

Forever it seemed like June 1 was the "get your sh*t together" deadline (aka Justin Smoak Day In these parts). It feels like a softer, gentler time - at least here in Marinerville.
I agree our major league trade pieces aren't fantabulous, but I think there are some players that can contribute to a playoff run. There should at least be a lot of phone calls.
If only JD had the balls to replace Servais...it's so clear this team, while average at best, is performing below peak performance in virtually every category.
The trade deadline is our playoffs this year. I can't wait to see it play out.
