I hate Jerry worse than Hitler but that was a great trade. End of Sentence. Hard stop.
Would have been a fine trade if they didn’t eff up the last few years by not adding offense. We’ll see how Castillo ages and what they do while he’s still effective.
I agree, but we still have to label that a good trade. We still have the longest playoff draught in North America without that trade. We can't sit here and piss and moan when they do NOTHING at the deadline to get a team over the hump, and then a few years later piss and moan about the fact that they did. I don't think it is a coincidence that the ONLY time that fuckhead JD has been a buyer at the deadline, we made the playoffs.

Castillo has put up 6.4 WAR and Marte has put up -0.1 WAR. The others haven't made it yet.

Although, maybe without breaking that drought, the management isn’t content to sit on their Asses and try to win 54% of games the last 2 seasons

And mariners have still not gotten to the playoffs the last 2 years. Let’s see what the A do the next few years. The trade on a vacuum is fine, but looking at what they have done since, it just shows how management wants to be just good enough to be interesting, but doesn’t really care about actually competing.

People are saying on X that trading for Randy was some big Swing. Maybe a medium swing but I bet you guys don't even remember the two guys we traded for him without looking them up.

I might be able to if I actually followed the mariners back then. I’m worried this trade is going to look more like the Haniger trade though. Good the first few years with nothing to show for it, but worse and worse as time goes on.

Maybe Marte would have taken roids in Seattle and he'd have been worth celebrating.

Guy looks like he's added 40 lbs of muscle in the last year.

What a winner.

Oh. Yeah. I don’t feel the Arizarena trade was all in. I think they gave up Shenton, and I think there was a young pitcher that threw hard, but walked a lot. I’m thinking Phillips or something?

Edit, I was wrong. I mistook it with another trade. I liked Aiden smith, and Hopkins is also doing fairly well, but neither of those guys had reached top 20 prospect at that point. Not sure a single trade for a .750-.800 ops outfielder is an all in move

Totally agree and both guys are sucking this season. You remember what you give up in All in trades.
