but Cano was a slacker before he got here, you think Segura wasn't aware of how Cano played baseball before he got here?

It's time to ease off Dipoto is what it is!bpj wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 11:55 pmLooks awfully good at the moment.
We should take a look at how many pieces for the future Dipoto brought in since last offseason.
Take a look at how many vacant roster spots we actually currently have, and see if we think Dipoto can fill them by mid-season next year?
My money is on an easy Yes. I think this time next year we should be watching 95% of the team we will be entering 2021 with.
Personally excited.

I'd love to have Paxton back honestly. I hope re-sign him. On know we agree on a lot of things DT, but this is one topic where I'm playing the advocate for the return of the Big Maple! He's better than any pitcher we currently have in our current rotation, even if he is injured. But I do understand you're reasoning for not wanting him here.

Dodgers with three consecutive walk off home runs by a rookie, that what makes it tough these days, the best teams are still piling on talent

Re: Looks like Cano taught Segura well
wow, guess that is what you guys are missing
New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway shouted profanities at a Newsday reporter in the clubhouse Sunday and starting pitcher Jason Vargas challenged the reporter to a fight and had to be restrained from going after him.
The incident came after the Mets' bullpen blew a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning of what ended as a 5-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Reporters asked repeatedly after the game about Callaway's decision to stick with reliever Seth Lugo during the eighth inning instead of going to closer Edwin Diaz. Lugo allowed a go-ahead three-run homer to Javier Baez.

Maybe he had to see it in person to believe it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 2:00 ambut Cano was a slacker before he got here, you think Segura wasn't aware of how Cano played baseball before he got here?

That is a painful reminder. The other night I was working my way through pre draft scouting numbers and the tank effort. Anyhow Kyle Lewis was the # 3 ranked guy that year. He has shown flashes this year and ST but with high profile types Hultzen, Lewis, even Carlson losing 2 years of development to TJ is frustrating.Hy Feiber wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 12:56 amI like Fraley, a hell of a gamer, exciting guy.bpj wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 11:55 pmLooks awfully good at the moment.

Let’s hope he doesn’t rip up his knee, a la Kyle Lewis.

Lewis is 30-for-79 (.380) since May 30 with six doubles, a triple and a homer. During that span, he’s walked 15 times to go with 28 strikeouts.Hanjag wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 4:38 amThat is a painful reminder. Looks like he's starting to heat up. Him and Evan White are on a couple nice little runs right now.

Re: Looks like Cano taught Segura well
Got an interesting story for y'all. So I'm watching the broadcast on my MLB app last night, and during the bottom of the 5th inning when J.P. Crawford was up to bat, Aaron Goldsmith and Blowers were talking about the " Rick Rizzs" bottle opener, and just then, the TV pans over to the Baltimore broadcast boothe. And there's Jim Palmer and holding up the bottle opener and laughing away with his color commentating partner.
Now the Baltimore analysts are really laughing hysterically, so I decide to pause and find out exactly what they are saying. I flip over and they're going on about the bottle opener, and giving Rizzs a hard time, but it's what they said right after that floored me, as Crawford lined a shot into LF to go 4-4. It's that J.P. Crawford was headed in a trade last year to the Baltimore organization for Adam Jones, because Philly was trying to load up for the Pennant race, but he invoked his 10-5 No Trade Players Right and the deal was nixed, and Crawford wound up staying in Philly.
Interesting turn of events. Just thought I'd share that little tid bit with y'all.

Only problem is his HR is pretty low. I guess playing in a pitchers park hurts that though. Someone asked "mariners minors" about his power output and they replied that they had seen at least 3 times where it would have been a HR in any other park. Hopefully he can show a little more power, and the "juiced ball" in AAA can help when he does get the call up (which may not come until next year). He certainly has the power though. We saw that in the Spring. Good to see him hitting. He's been pretty good at taking walks this year, but his K rate is pretty high. If he could knock that down about 10 % that would be huge for him.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 24, 2019 8:30 amLooks like he's starting to heat up.
