not sure how its over thinking on steroids, the reason SS offered was its an attempt to counter having three leftie pitchers in a row start

Wow, did SS grows some balls overnight?
"That's a horrible call. Replay was put in for two reasons, the catch if guys are diving for balls and boundary calls. That should not be missed. On the field it's tough. But that should not be missed on replay."

The Mariner brass should be sending thank-you letters to their counterparts in Tampa for bringing the starter concept to baseball and bringing legitimacy to it. Otherwise, they would have had to either accept being a slightly-below-.500 team or do something far more questionable from an ethics standpoint in order to lose games.

Since being traded to the Yankees, Edwin Encarnación has a .123/.208/.338 slash line, and his season average has dropped from .241 to .216 in 16 games.
