2.5% chance to get a WC spot. 1 in 40. Sounds about right.

Yeah, two games out with six to go with three teams ahead of us is cutting it a bit too close.

Ah, what could have been.

6-0 might pull it off, but that would require a smidgen of help from the Orioles. We hold the tie-breaker over the Blue Jays so that helps.

What doesn't help is we're playing at home. Even in a good season like this most of the clown shows have been at home (the Tiger series, the Royal series, the Diamondback series, the two no-hitters, etc.). We should ask the A'ss and Angels if they'd like to play in their parks instead. Seriously, DO IT.

Attendance guess for tonight's game? I will go with 21K.
I will be there Friday and Saturday
Ok 21,001 for Friday and Saturday. :)
Have to make 21,002, can’t get there unless wife takes me and helps me out

I was thinking you would kick an obnoxious A's fan's ass on the way to the ball park and he would never make it so 21k-1+2 = 21,001 :)

There are no tie breakers. If they tie for the wildcard, there will be a playoff to determine who gets the spot.

Most likely path to the playoffs is M's go 5-1, Yankees go 1-2 against the Bluejays and 1-2against the Rays. Bluejays go 2-1 against the Yankees and 2-1 against the Orioles that would give them a 3 way tie at 91 wins. The home field advantage in that scenario is very convoluted but if I am understanding things correctly It would likely be the Yankees hosting the M's and then The winner would host Toronto for a one game playoff.

Wow this inning was unreal. Sox fans have to be suicidal.

This weekend pretty much sealed our fate unfortunately. Now the Yankees play the Blue Jays so one of those teams will stay ahead of us and the Red Sox go get healthy vs. the Orioles. All over but the crying and will miss by 2-3 games.
I agree that chances are slim, but after witnessing the debacle the Seahawks have become, I'm not giving up hope for the M's. Stranger things have happened. Who would have predicted 1995 when we were something like 12 games back in August?

FWIW, 538 is more optimistic at 5%. They have Yanks 75%, BoSox 77%, and Blue Jays 42%.

Two outs, nobody on, and three batters later we're down three. Not a good start in the biggest game of Flexen's life and knowing what happens to us at home I feel like I did in the third quarter of the Hawk game yesterday.

Season over tonight? Wow 2 quick outs then starts to get hit hard. We have really struggled at home. Guess we are a better road team.
