I think if you signed both Haniger and Nimmo you would have the best outfield in baseball. There's health risk with Haniger based on track record, but I feel better about him from an age-related regression standpoint, just based on his reputation for conditioning.

Would the Mariners prefer to buy high on Brandon Nimmo or buy low on Michael Conforto?

The medicals on Conforto should be deciding but Nimmo and Conforto provide interesting comps as 29-year-old lefthand-hitting, righthand-throwing outfielders, born the same month, who have played their entire MLB careers with the New York Mets. Their career lines:

BN DOB 3-27-93 608 G, 2368 PA, .269/.385/.441/.827, 130 OPS+, 17.9 fWAR, 17.1 bWAR
MC DOB 3-1-93 759 G, 2980 PA, .255/.356/.468/.824, 124 OPS+, 19.3 fWAR, 15.7 bWAR

Does the difference justify the likely disparity in contracts?
How is it buying high on Nimmo. His OPS has declined two straight seasons and is lower than his career OPS.

This org doesn't need to bottom feed on bargain bin reclamation projects. Conforto could be another Pax or KLew then what?

Yeah I thought that before last season too before he was out for MONTHS with a sprained ankle and felt compelled to help the Rainiers try for a PCL title for 3 weeks....

This year Brandon Nimmo has career highs of 5.4 fWAR/5.0 bWAR and 151 games, only the second time Nimmo has played more the 92 games in his seven-year MLB career (although Nimmo played 55 of 60 games in the shortened 2020 season).

If his OPS continues to decline you would have bought high wouldn't you?

Nimmo is a center fielder isn't he?

Are those corner outfielder numbers?
. Nimmo, who was named a National League Silver Slugger finalist on Thursday, is coming off a strong campaign, in which he posted a career-high 5 bWAR. He also played in 151 games, hit 16 home runs, drove in 64 RBI and batted .274 with a .800 OPS

Citi field is even worse than T Mobile to hit but unlike T Mobile its far worse for LH hitters. He had a .898 OPS on the road including 12 of those 16 HRs....

So you're signing him to play corner outfield? That to me sounds like an overpay. His 5 WAR is based on playing center field.
