Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!
I can't believe that with all the runners Munoz has put on base over the last two months that his WHIP is still at 1.00. But, he's still getting that third out so all is good.

I think they could be scarier than the 2001 team, they have more pitching

Seattle Mariners closer Andres Munoz explained in a postgame interview with ROOT Sports on Tuesday that he felt dizzy on the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning of the M's 1-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Don't disrespect the 2001 team that was +300 run differential.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 6:48 amI think they could be scarier than the 2001 team, they have more pitching

why, Jamie Moyer is your ace? That's always been the knock, the 2001 team wasn't built for the playoffs. It would be about luck and timing but if this team was really humming come the playoffs. That's the thing, I have never thought much of the teams that Z or Dipoto put together. Even if they had made the playoffs they seemed thin. This team seems different, there's some real depth for one thing, particularly if Robles and Miller are healthySibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 3:31 pmThat's just plain ignorant.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 13, 2025 6:48 amI think they could be scarier than the 2001 team, they have more pitching

The team as it is constructed now is probably better suited for the playoffs than the 2001 team, IMO. And it's all because of the pitching staff. That Mariner team prided itself on having the best five man rotation, but unfortunately they really had no one that should have been more than a good #2 or very good #3.
The lineup is comparable, IMO. I get tired of hearing Salk talk all this shit about how this team is better based on Park Adjusted factors. Fine, you could say that about 95 and 97, but the 2001 team didn't play in the Kingdome, so why are we worried about Park Adjustments?
Wilson or Cal? 2025 wins easy
Olerud or Naylor? 2001 wins
Boone or Young. 2001 wins
Bell or Suarez. I say 2025, but not based on how Suarez is hitting right now.
McLemore or J.P? 2001
Javier or Randy? 2025
Cameron or Julio? 2025
Ichiro or Dom? 2001 wins easy
Edgar or Polanco? Come on....2001
So? Unless there are debates here? The lineup in 2001 is slightly better. But the playoffs are about Pitching, and the Yankees had us in that category very easily....and this 2025 team is vastly superior in that category to the 2001 team, IMO.

McLemore and Javier were utility guys. And i don't see how Julio beats Cameron.
Also, 2001 team ERA was 3.50.

Oh yeah, a lot better now that you lay it out, I am being biased i guess. I am giving the current team the benefit of being on a roll, so I should give it to the 2001 team as well. And that team on a roll probably crushes this one. The pitching is pretty sweet on this one though. Mclemore wasn't the SS, that was Carlos Guillén. It would be Mclemore vs Dylan Moore, Mclemore was utility. Before Moore went in the tank he could have matched up bit

Salk is such a clown. Just before we scored 1 run yesterday vs. mid pitching he wrote this lengthy piece claiming that the current lineup is as good as anyone we have ever had including all of the 1995-2001 teams.
This morning he was basically promoting Dean freakin Kremer for the HOF. Said he was just fantastic and there was nothing our hitters could have done against him. lol

I never could really get behind Jamie Moyer, interesting his 2002 season was better than his 2001. I am thinking too that Gilbert need to pitching like he did last season by the end of this season
