Can not make this stuff up. Shit show gone wild. lol Thanks for the update, Dan. btw how is the off season work out program going?DanielVogelbach wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 10:14 pmThe latest is the craziest
1. "Carlos Beltran's Niece" Twitter Account, which is now considered a MLB player's burner account announced Carlos Beltran's hiring and firing before anyone else. This same account tips the internet off to Jose Altuve and Bregman wearing transponders. Talks about walk-off vs Chapman and Altuve not wanting to take off his shirt
2. Video analysis now all over the internet. Jose Altuve looks scared shitless rounding third base. He's holding his jersey for dear life after telling his teammates not my shirt, not my shirt in Spanish. Then, he quickly runs off to the clubhouse to change shirts before returning to the field to celebrate with his teammates
3. Ken Rosenthal asks him post game why he didn't want his shirt ripped off. Jose asks him to repeat the question... the only time he does that is on this question, so he can buy time to lie, then he laughs nervously and says "I don't know, I'm shy, last time my wife didn't like it"... asking to repeat question, laughing, giving multiple answers... all signs of lying. Internet blowing up showing Altuve Instagram pics bear chested and other times when he was shirtless on field. This time he was wearing a wire. For that big Chapman walk-off, he was wired up.
Watch the videos. See what you think. Should they re-open the investigation? Should these guys be getting lifetime bans?

the buzzer rumors are not new, they did i would assume a careful investigation, I believe Manfred has already said there was not any evidence of buzzers.

No evidence just means Altuve didnt take his shirt off. If he had, there would have been.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 3:21 amthe buzzer rumors are not new, they did i would assume a careful investigation, I believe Manfred has already said there was not any evidence of buzzers.
What Manfred said was they can't prove it. He didn't say there was nothing to it. Just, no evidence. Big difference, imo.

Buzzer rumors may not be new, but there's a whole lotta sh!t that happened on 1/16/2019 that was brand new. You're now looking at probably 80% of all players and fans are going to think Altuve and Bregman were wearing buzzers. I personally feel like the video evidence and the Rosenthal interview are all anybody needs. Altuve should've been so excited to have hit a walk-off homer to go to the World Series, but you can see the apprehension in his face as he's headed home, and he immediately runs to the clubhouse to change shirts... there's no way he wasn't wearing a wire. Really, he should be banned for life. So, here we go.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 3:21 amthe buzzer rumors are not new, they did i would assume a careful investigation, I believe Manfred has already said there was not any evidence of buzzers.

but they didn't tell the investigators...okMajor League Baseball said Thursday it “explored wearable devices during the investigation (on the Astros) but found no supporting evidence.”
By evidence I believe Manfred means testimony, its not like they were going around taking fingerprints or something, it was done with interviews. They asked people like the clubhouse attendants if there were buzzers, and i think they expected to hear the truth. Thats how they put the case together, people spilling the beans. But those witnesses decided to withhold the part about buzzers. That sounds like pretty risky behavior when you are already in deep shit. But if that is the case then so be it i guess. And besides, if he was wearing a buzzer, I find it hard to believe he would have it in obvious sight if his shirt happened to came off. All he would have had to do is put it under a bandaid or something. But you can't have a story these days without a conspiracy attached to itTrevor Bauer responded Thursday by tweeting: “I’ve heard this from several parties too, for what it’s worth …”

The videos of Altuve seem too suspicious to me. Walk off homer to send your team to the WS and it's all about holding onto your shirt for dear life? And, he has to run to the clubhouse and change his shirt before joining his teammates on the field? And, then he needs Rosenthal to repeat the question? Then he laughs nervously and provides multiple dumb answers? The source seems pretty reliable. Really, the trash can banging was probably just as effective, but this newest revelation does a few things for me. First, it lets me know they were doing it recently and in the big moments. Second, it lets me know that there was no limit to the lengths they would go. Third, it lets me know that their most talented stars were doing it.
I still think it's hard to punish the employee if the boss put the system in play. Similarly, it's hard to punish the boss if the employee put the system in play. So, the current punishment may be appropriate. But on the other hand this cheating is so hard and we're talking about established star players gaining an advantage more powerful than steroids. Hard to believe Cano sits for 80 while Altuve doesn't miss a single game.

Don't know anything about the investigation. Maybe Manfred was trying to keep his star players images looking good. What I can see is the video. His reaction to hitting a walk off game 7 homer to go to the World Series is very suspicious to me given the reliable source saying he was wearing a wire. Did Manfred talk to "Carlos Beltran's Niece"??? Fan and player opinion is changing based on the events of 1/16/19.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 8:05 amSo the people the investigators asked about buzzers lied to them...ok, i just find that harder to believe than the video

Who is the reliable source?...
that twitter account is supposedly a notorious troll
I guess if you want to believe that Manfred is the one behind the conspiracy to suppress it. Can you imagine the harm Manfred does to himself and baseball if it comes out that he did that? After all the harm the cheating itself did, there is another layer of cheating that he is now involved in on top of it? I really can't imagine him taking that risk.
here is a rundown to how the rumor developed

In March, some people on Twitter figured out the account was one of many burner accounts belonging to Incarcerated Bob, a total phony and infamous rumor monger, and called him out accordingly.

Re: Boom! Astros get ASS JAMMED by MLB
here is Passan's take, long but interesting...
MLB has truly a mess on their hands, its interesting that it began with the technological aspects to sign stealing, and now its facing the technological aspects of modern media. At this point things will turn on all the truth being out there. Players were given immunity from punishment for the truth, if someone now is caught lying, who knows the ramifications, Manfred has staked his reputation and that of MLB on a full and honest investigation.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/285 ... epic-chaosPlayers know the consequences if any additional information surfaces, which is why denials quickly followed accusations Thursday. Former Braves general manager John Coppolella broke rules about international signing bonuses. It was a misdemeanor to the Astros' felony. But Coppolella lied about it. And for that, he remains permanently banned from baseball.
This sign-stealing scandal poses by far the greatest threat of Manfred's commissionership, and a day like Thursday, which introduces something like a buzzer into a landscape ready to believe anything, certainly does no favors. Thursday synopsized what Manfred faces: a scandal that no matter how tidily he tries to bow-wrap it remains, at least for now, maybe forever, amorphous, full of surprises, ever ready to grow another tentacle.
