Probably have about $20-25M in payroll left to add. Plenty of room to add 3-5 wins with a trade + a signing or two trades.

How would the two part White Sox Rays Trade impact our Wins projection?

Out:
Miller -1.3 fWAR

In:
Cease 2.7 fWAR
Randy 2.9 fWAR

Net: +4.4 fWAR

Current Team projection: 87.4 wins
New Team projections: 91.8 wins

Why are we trading assets for a starting pitcher with more salary? Not saying I would mind the trade, depending on the players given up, but didn’t seem prudent for a team that is limiting spending.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

I like it even more now that Garver gets $9.5 M in 2024 and $11.5M in 2025.

I'm hoping for a Snell deal that has money deferred in 2024.

Maybe the following
Snell signing, which adds 1.5 wins over Miller. It keeps him away from Yankees, Anaheim.
Miller trade for Azorarena, which adds 1.5 wins over Marlowe/Trammel/Deloach.
Trade or sign a setup reliever, adding about 1 win. I suspect someone in the pen will regress down.

Because if we trade Woo or Miller we will need another starter right? Rays can't afford Cease or they would just do a direct trade with the Sox. Cease is way more affordable than any FA starter of his ilk.

I though it was $24M total?
