Anyone whose been around long enough knows this team is dogshit and can't put a winning team together. Great, their 8 games over .500? That's as good as it's going to get until ownership/FO changes.

That HR was Toro's 7th in just 123 PAs. That projects to about 35 for a full season. He has at .218/.293/.418/.711 OPS

Mitch Haniger's MLB slash when we traded for him: .229/.309/.404/.713

He was 26. Toro is 24.

That's baseball
. Toro was taking his pregame swings for Houston when he learned about the deal. The infielder walked to the other dugout, put on his new uniform and went back to the batting cage.

Toro is the first player in major league history to homer for one team and against that team in consecutive games, ESPN said, citing the Elias Sports Bureau.

Good point... graveman probably walked into a clubhouse accustomed to winning, focused on their individual responsibilities. Toro seems to have walked into a clubhouse with players breaking equipment and and expecting a visit from the gm. No wonder he went back out to the batting cage. He might be the most professional player they got

Yeah another AAAA player. Already 24 with parts of three seasons in the show and a .193 career average. This is terrible. I'd rather take a shot at actually making the playoffs and lose graveman for nothing at the end of the year. Instead we bail on the season and pick up another "prospect" who has been a disappointment to this point. Now we get to watch this guy try to figure it out for the next four years while Dipoto touts his potential as the reason he doesnt need to add any quality free agents.
I'd rather win the Division next year and future years.
They could have added someone better than that by opening their wallets this off-season. This is a massive middle finger to the fans. If the '95 Mariners had traded Norm Charlton or Jeff Nelson in late July the Mariners would be playing in another city right now.
I know emotions are high, but Abraham Toro lengthens this lineup. Our bullpen is stocked to the brim and we have two excellent pitchers joining us next year in Ken Giles and Andres Munóz. Not to mention the three elite arms already on the team in Paul Sewald, Drew Steckenrider, and JT Chargois. Casey Sadler has also come off the IL as has Erik Swanson. And Hector Santiago has served his ridiculous suspension.

Our infield ranks have very little depth. Our second base position is statistically the WORST in baseball next to Baltimore's. I love me some Dylan Moore, but he is the true definition of a Utility player and Kendall Graveman is a free agent at the end of the season. We have control over Toro's contract, who was Houston's #3 prospect for the next five seasons.

There's no guarantee that Jerry would be willing to pay the massive contract that Gravemen will surely command in the offseason, and he will. Money that could be allocated to other more important area's of the roster such as the starting rotation. Toro is cost controlled through 2026.

Dipoto has also stated more moves are yet to come. He has reconstructed this roster through augmentation to where we are eight games over .500 and contending for the Wild Card without sacrificing or mortgaging the future of this franchise. The farm system remains one of the best in baseball. The Mariners have a ton of draft capital that they can choose to use to further augment the Big League roster.

I know this is a bitter pill to swallow, it is, but we must believe in the process. This is a business.

Go M's!

Torro won't be the deciding factor in us winning the division EVER. I can't wait to watch Graveman throw the next two games and shove it up our asses....not that I will watch!

This is the shit that we go through every year. One game out of a playoff spot, playing a team in our division, we give them our best bullpen arm for a scrub never- will - be and a has - been. THIS is why I get pissed every year...this is what happens when I start paying attention.
Statistically Paul Sewald has been our best bullpen arm.

Ha the tide is turning!!! LMAO
The vaccine is overrated! And this is coming from someone on the frontlines of the #1 ranked hospital in America. No one should be forced to take the vaccine under any circumstances. I am 100% against it. And I've seen more death from the flu than I have Covid and the numbers don't even compare. The Covid vaccine is a joke!

How is Toro any different than Dylan Moore and Shed Long? Same fucking player.
Well he's a switch hitter that has had much more success than the previous names mentioned and was ranked #3 in the Houston farm system according to Fangraphs which Shed and Dylan never have been. The kid has reportedly been turning a corner. 2 home runs in the last two nights might be a sign. I'd like to see what his numbers are over the last month. His AAA numbers are phenomenal.
