I wonder if Haniger, Desclafani, and Raley are all intended for the roster or if there are more deals pending. Personally, I'd be fine keeping them all. If Desclafani is your number five you can start Woo in Tacoma or Arkansas and control his innings.
Raley 128 K's to only 30 walks though, don't love that. I still think we need at least 1 more "impact hitter."
Raley had a .925 OPS in the first half last year and a .677 OPS in the second half. Pretty suspect.

Kind of like Kelenic when the pitchers stopped throwing him fastballs.

We're more likely to have the .700 OPS guy than the .900 OPS guy in Seattle.

So they just replaced all of the question mark players with bigger question marks this offseason.....

Put these guys next to the players they replaced from last season and it's pretty much a wash all around imo.

Pretty weak offseason.

So their payroll today is the same as it was yesterday, and it looks like Dipoto "filled" all of the holes.

Seems like keeping payroll low was their main (maybe only) objective.

Raley seems a little better than Kelenic but he is quite a bit older. He is already 29 so not a whole lot of upside left. He has hit well at T-Mobile. Just 4 games but he is at .308 with a home run, 2 doubles and an 1.130 OPS. He also has a career .842 OPS on the road compared to .716 for Kelenic. His OPS is over .200 points higher vs righties so maybe a platoon with Mitch is what they have in mind.

Ray to the Giants for Haniger and Descalfani. Ok.
Yeah. Just saw this.

One broken down pitcher for one broken down outfielder.

Shed more salary?

Massive difference is Ray is going to miss the whole season and Mitch might play a few games. lol

Mitch will be broken by the ASG whereas Ray will be throwing again by then. *shrugs*

Haniger and Raley.

Is Marlowe and Canzone going to be depth? Maybe Garver is doing more than just emergency catching.
Plus I like that Raley can play some first base as well. Bats left handed and had a +126 OPS last season.
Love Raley. Put up 3.7 WAR per 600. Randy put up 3.8 WAR per 600 but hits RH vs. LH and will make $8M more than Raley. LOVE it!!!!

Randy would have cost Woo or Miller. Raley costs Cabby.

Hot damn I am in disbelief. :D

Yeah he will be throwing by the ASB. Underhanded soft toss from about 10 feet. If he makes more than a handful of starts I will be shocked.
