Re: Woo For the Win Sunday Gamethread 4-6
They DFA Tellez and call up Williamson.
Jesus Christ... so they just handed $7 million to Polanco for his knee to already be fucked up?
Otherwise why on earth would they call up Williamson who has just one XBH in 40ish AB's in AAA?
Canzone is also being called up in place of Robles.
They are apparently going to die on the Garver/Solano hill yet again while Locklear cooks in AAA. Goes 4-5 tonight with a double and they bring up the noodle bat 3B who has an OPS under .600 having played half his fucking games so far in Reno.
These people are morons.

I'm not seeing that anywhere. Do you have a source?Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:01 amThey DFA Tellez and call up Williamson.

Ah, I've been fooled by fake news. Was a tweet from a common M's account claiming to be sourced.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:51 amI'm not seeing that anywhere. Do you have a source?Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:01 amThey DFA Tellez and call up Williamson.

Me, I've had 7 (yes seven) shoulder surgeries. My guess is that he did dislocate it and could have possibly tore his rotator cuff. If he did tear the cuff, it's a long road ahead.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 3:09 amI’d guess he dislocated it. He might have stretched a nerve and even got some numbness with it. Thankfully it’s his left arm,. No idea what the timeline will be for recovery thoughSibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 12:35 amThey carted him off the field for a shoulder?Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 12:16 amDrayer says Robles hurt his shoulder.
Which is a hell of a lot better than a broken wrist typically.

Could be the a tore labrum as well.
both the rotator cuff and labrum would be a surgery and months of therapy.
Personally, the way his shoulder bent back when he pancaked against the wall, I feel he won't be back this season.

The left fielder picked up the ball before it even got to the warning track. Cal would have probably been AT BEST halfway between third and home when the relay arrived home. Even with two outs, how that thought even formulated in your head defies human evolution. I mean, that's some serious missing link mentality right there.

No roster move yet.
Re: Woo For the Win Sunday Gamethread 4-6
If you look closely you can see both the ball (about 20 ft from Adames) and at the bottom you can see Cal already at 3b slamming the brakes. Also, note Adames' positioning. He's well into LF. I would estimate he's looking at a 185 ft throw to home.
It's hard to be exact with this estimate because I don't know how hard the LF's throw was to Adames, but given Cal has already reached 3b here, I would estimate him able to get 30 feet down the line before the ball is in Adames' glove. Then it's pop time and the need for 185-foot laser to hit Bailey before Cal covers 60 feet and touches home.
Also the situation is tie game, 2 outs, top nine. I don't like this stop sign one bit. I think Cal has a 70 percent chance to score here (just my own prognostication), it might even be better, as long as he doesn't trip over himself going down the line, and I think you have to force the issue on the road.
It would have led to a 5-4 lead even if Mastro walks again and Garver pops out again. That brings on Munoz and not Santos (both were warming)
Re: Woo For the Win Sunday Gamethread 4-6
See the screen capture I posted above. Cal is already past third base and stopping before ball is in Adames' glove (really anywhere near it). Cal likely covers a minimum of 20 ft with his momentum before the ball hits Adames' mitt, I'd say closer to 30, so you're then talking about Cal needing to cover 60 ft in the time it takes Adames to transfer and uncork a 180-190 ft throw to homeDavidGee24 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 6:15 pmThe left fielder picked up the ball before it even got to the warning track. They got a clutch hit yesterday from Arozarena and they were ultimately not aggressive enough to push the issue to possibly take the lead. Got to continue to be aggressive on the bases. That's supposed to be a hallmark of this club and when it mattered most, Negron second guessed himself, chose to be conservative.AlvinDavisFan21 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 4:38 amMariners finding ways to lose again. A couple key/clutch hits could have easily taken 2/3. As Angie mentioned on the broadcast today, only 10 games into the season but things are starting to slip away. Long way to go, but come out of April in last place it is a long hill to climb.
Look above at the screenshot I posted from the play. And Goldsmith comments that Negron was waving Cal, then threw up stop sign. We don't know what would've happened, but given position of ball, of Adames and Cal, I like the M's chances here.
This is the difference between winning and losing in baseball, the difference between making the playoffs and not. Executing on these plays. I always say, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Applying that in this situation, here you have a scoring chance. You have a runner with momentum rounding third and attempting to score. You don't know with 2 outs what the next hitter is going to do against a good closer. You don't have Julio, Cal or Robles coming up. You have a deep utility bat. Take the bird in the hand. Be aggressive here.
