You guys think I am exaggerating but I see tweets like this every day. It is just beyond belief.
I wonder. Do you think the M's will hold onto JK until he's 28? I mean, he "may just be a late bloomer and we have to give him a chance, right? In the mean time, they will trade away every other potential LF during that time and not try to bring in someone better. Gotta hold on to him because of his "potential!"

Yeah, but correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t he about out of options? I mean you can’t keep bouncing his ass back to the minors to “figure it out” indefinitely. Once he’s out of options, you’ve pretty much got to play him or trade him, right?

I know you’re joking a bit here, but if they give him 300 PAs, and we’re at the trade deadline in July and he’s batting .180 again, what do you honestly do with him?

Jarred Kelenic has one minor league option remaining.

Kelenic's trade value is so low now that if he's batting .180 again in July his trade value won't be significantly lower. The Mariners' hand will be forced when Kelenic runs out of options (which could be as early as next offseason).

Right now his value is higher because of the option. If they have to send him down again (highly likely) he will be like the 1987 Brat pack movie........Less than Zero.

I wouldn't put it past the M's to deposit him in LF until he's 28 and no better than he is right now. THEN they may have better options. But as they have better options currently (Haggarty and Moore), I doubt they will give up on JK for some time because he has all that "potential." I believe the M's think his ceiling is on the order of "Willie Mays."

He has a better chance of becoming the same Race as Willie Mays than becoming as good of a baseball player as Willie Mays.

Finally a new MLB trade rumors story. Former Mariners legend retiring...

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/seattle-mariners
B-R shows Cishek with 11+ years service time and a career ERA of 2.98 in 737 games. That's an extremely legit career. That service time, especially, is extremely difficult to get to as a reliever.

Made $43M and I bet the majority of MLB fans have never heard of him....
