Thats why I like Dylan in the lead off role. Puts some pressure on the base paths.

Problem is if you take away his four HRs he has only been on the base paths 23% of the time. JK seems to be doing fine there.

I like this strategy of having your best batters getting the most plate appearances. In Modesto, Marte and Marlowe are hitting 1and 2. They just beat Rancho Cucomunga 9-8 with both Marte and Marlowe getting multi hit games and hitting 4 RBIs apiece. Cade Marlowe is 23, a 20th round pick in 2019, plays outfield. He's off to a blistering start, .371/.478/1.135 forcing pitchers to throw strikes to Marte. Marte is one of our prize international SS/3B signing, now 19 years old but he has over 300 ABS already despite the shortened Covid Season. A strong frame and a powerful arm... .364/.417/.985 could last at SS or move to 3rd. Cade is just a long shot, a reach but he's raising attention.

You got nothing so far... Mariners manager Scott Servais came to Seattle as an extension of General Manager Jerry Dipoto‘s reign over the team from his luxury box above the field. Before Seattle, he didn't have any MLB managerial or coaching experience on the field making in-game decisions before he took over in 2016. He's timid and mild-mannered and generally out coached by the opposing manager. We've had a couple of good managers here in Seattle over a mostly miserable history, and, so far, Servais has done nothing to deserve to be included in that small group. Throwing rookies into high leverage situations is something he does, getting caught with his pants down and no one ready in the bullpen is another annoying attribute, and allowing a young pitcher who has pitched a great 5 or 6 innings to be vulnerable to a loss is a third annoying trait. He's a losing manager thus far in his career and part of that is his own fault. People can improve or change, so the concrete hasn't set yet.... but there's a handful of managers I'd rather have.

Agreed 1000 percent. What's crazy is Servais came into the job not knowing what the hell he was doing. I call him the Peter Principal Skipper. He has been promoted and extended solely on his relationship with the GM imho and the fact that not much is expected of him managing a rebuild. However with that said, last night proves that he is learning some things on the job. That game where we were up 4-1 absolutely pissed me off. He left his weak ass arms in there and gave up the game in two short innings. This time he went back to the winning strategy of put your best stuff out there and stop the bleeding. Maybe I'll have to change my nickname of "Grave Digger" for Graveman to "The Tourniquet". HA! Watch. The Mariners will now make the playoffs and SS will get all the credit and be extended another 3 years. Just our luck.

My point wasn't about you Jay, it was about SS. He made the right call there, just like he did by bringing in Graveman when he did. He will never get credit for the moves he makes, he will get blamed for the losses.

I am willing to wager players like playing for him. He understands the advanced aspects to the game. He doesn't rant and rave, demand the spot light. He doesn't throw them under the bus to the media, blaming them for losses instead of himself. He shows confidence in them. He is a steady hand, even keeled, doesn't listen to the fans. I bet they like that

No way to substantiate that. Players don't complain about their managers, it's stupid unless the manager is caught fucking the player's wife or something.... It's up to the fans to raise their voice when the manager is making dumb calls... Neihaus would sometimes call a manager out. Sometimes it's blog writers....
