They didnt extend Teo the QO.

Def didn't want him to accept it.

Cya and good ridance.
That’s just stupid. If he accepts it, you have a DH. If not you get a pick. Fucking stupid
If he accepts it, you have a player who just K'd 215 times and sucked in your home ballpark.

You really wanna pay $21 million to a DH who just hit for a .740 OPS? Not me.

Man, what a bunch of sissies.

They should have two extra draft picks from giving Mitch and Teo QO's, but they're more concerned about being on the hook for $20M to a bat.
So they trade Sewald but not Teo so get ZERO for him. No consistent cohesive strategy. Always hedging bets and half measures. Limped dicked lameness.
Idk man... say he accepts the QO.

We're on the hook for $21 million and a bat who K'd 215 times last year.

I'd much rather they spend that money elsewhere. Screw the pick.
I think we'd be better off with him if they still made the rest of the moves they were planning on making if he declined.

I think they gave him the special vet treatment this season, let him play in a contract year.

If he accepted a QO, he'd probably be better off as a 400 plate appearances guy anyways, so they wouldn't have to pussyfoot around benching him against tough righties. And they'd likely DH him more.

Irrelevant now!

If it means they spend 220M instead of 200M, I'm ok with it.

They just shouldn't let it stop them from making the rest of the needed moves.

Truly special moment for this huge Vogt fan..... :| Feels the need to point out he didn't know him personally. lol
I feel like just about every person who starts an M's podcast feels as though they have to all fit into the same mold as unrelentingly positive. No doubt that he's never heard or seen Steven Vogt do anything ... but if there's a overly positive post to make for engagements from the weirdos of Twitter... someone w. a podcast is sure to make it.
 So true. And he is not only happy he is SUPER happy. I wonder if he shared the great news with friends and family in real life so they could share the moment....
It is impressive, hadn't realized, retires in 2022, the mariners hire him the beginning of 2023 as the bullpen and by the end of the season he's taking terry Franconias place with Cleveland

The rule of thumb really is if you don't want the player back don't extend the qualifier

I was kind of tired of the lack of production from Teo when it mattered and all the Ks so I’m ok with it. But gotta get some bats in the offseason that are not washed up or punch n Judy hitters.
