So a slap hitter with zero power and no patience is the secret of Dylan Moore's success.............

They already wasted this year when they could be contending, why would they do that.
They'll obviously add at least a player or two to the roster. Add to the top of the roster instead of the bottom.
Same strategy that would have made us contenders THIS SEASON.

We'll see. I'm only staying my opinion of what I think Dipoto will do. I'm not saying what I think they should do. I've already stated my opinion about that. You add good players in any way you can. I would love for it to be a start in Free Agency, I just don't think it will happen. I think Sipoto will sit back and see what he has for at least the first half of 2021, then add via trade when he knows where the holes are. Simply a prediction after seeing how Dipoto has handled the rebuild so far.bpj wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 11:27 pmThey already wasted this year when they could be contending, why would they do that.

Re: $50 wins prediction contest
that is about the owners isn't it, if they want to spend or not, signing a big ticket FA begins at the top with the owners more than it does with a GM
Re: $50 wins prediction contest
GM is the one that would sell the owners on it though. Dipoto has always been more interested in trades than big name free agent signings in Seattle. He wasn't afraid of it in LA. Not sure if it's more his philosophy changing or the owners not wanting to commit big money long termDonn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 1:05 amthat is about the owners isn't it, if they want to spend or not, signing a big ticket FA begins at the top with the owners more than it does with a GM

I don't believe signing a high priced FA begins with the GM trying to sell the idea, i think it generally begins with owners, that is why Scot Boras doesn't bother much with GMs, he deals with owners, and that is why Dipoto wasn't afraid of the idea in LA because Arte Moreno pushed the ideaJuliooooo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 1:11 amGM is the one that would sell the owners on it though. I'm sure there is give and take, and I think it could go both ways. Probably depends on the owner and the market though.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:56 amI don't believe signing a high priced FA begins with the GM trying to sell the idea, i think it generally begins with owners, that is why Scot Boras doesn't bother much with GMs, he deals with owners, and that is why Dipoto wasn't afraid of the idea in LA because Arte Moreno pushed the ideaJuliooooo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 1:11 amGM is the one that would sell the owners on it though. It's not an all or none thing. I think they both come in to play. It depends on the owner, the gm and the market.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 12:02 pmlike the Mariner - Robinson Cano negotiations, Howard Lincoln was the one reported to be handling those, Z was never mentioned
