"Get out the rye bread and mustard, Grandma..."

Can't believe nobody has picked this one yet. For Mariner's fans, it's gospel.
DT said only one....and I will forever remember Gus Johnson on the call when IT hit that shot. I'll always remember where I was that day, just like I'll always remember screaming at the TV as Junior was flying around third. BUT? I don't remember what was said. I remember "get out the rye bread and mustard", but only the call, not the play. I can't see an IT highlight without hearing "COOOLD BLOOODED!" So, that was my one.

The video clip that was shown when Jim McKay said agony of defeat, was a skiier falling off the ski jump in a little town called Oberstdorf Germany. I was an exchange student there in 1979 for half a year. I've been back to visit my exchange family and exchange brother many times since. It is a beautiful place in the Alps, the most southern town in Germany.

The thrill of victory was the kid from Kirkland when they won the Little League world series. Cody Webster. There was a 30 for 30, or something like that about that team. Actually pretty sad story. Poor Cody was just a kid, but went through some shit because of that.

Side note, I played men's league with a guy from Walla Walla. They beat Juanita in the State Championship his Senior year. Cody was pitching, and my buddy hit a HR off him. It was the last pitch Cody threw in his HS career and Walla Walla beat them. I just googled it, looks like it was 1988, and Walla Walla won 5 to 2. I swear my buddy said it was a Grand Slam, but that part I am not 100% about. Small world.

Probably no existing clip but back on the late 70’s or early 80’s the Portland Trailblazers beat the 76ers after Billy Ray Bates caught an inbounds pass and flipped it in over his shoulder at the buzzer. The postgame interview was epic:
Bates:”I coulda dunked da’ ball!”
(Immediate cut to Daryl Dawkins)
Dawkins: “Da man’s a liar! Nobody be dunkin’ da ball on me! Try Dunkin’ da ball on me, I’ll turn ya brain to mush!”
