3rd baseman seem dear these days, historically they've been more a throw in position seems to me. Not many in the HOF is there?

19, although three of them were Negro Leaguers that may or may not have been HOF-caliber players and four of them are old-timers that today would not have been enshrined.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2026 9:40 pm3rd baseman seem dear these days, historically they've been more a throw in position seems to me. There's an ESPN article on the likelihood of the giants blowing things up. What I thought was interesting was the brunt of the criticism over their situation seems to be aimed more at their manager Tony Vitello rather than Posey. That could be because of Posey being well liked. Remember Vitello didn't have any ML experience. He was a college baseball manager. It was an off beat hire. Maybe along the lines of the seahawks hiring Grubb. And of course Posey is responsible for doing it
