Have to realize a return to keep the franchise stocked. It's part of why the Ms have sucked for years. They let guys like Nelson Cruz walk instead of trading them to get prospects when they have the chance.
Imagine the A's or Rays letting a guy like Cruz play out his contract in a losing season... Yeah, neither can I. It wouldnt happen.
Same situation with Edwin.
Roster moves when Seager is ready

Re: Roster moves when Seager is ready
Well said BPJ and I concur we need to be flexible and move players on for the betterment of the future at the right time. Seager is a classic example imo his platoon and shift issues existed long before Jerry got there and he should have been one of Jerry's first trades out.
Re: Roster moves when Seager is ready
.617 OPS with zero HRs in AAA. Can't contain my excitement for his return.

Re: Roster moves when Seager is ready
Seager is eligible tomorrow. I'm not sure that they activate him tomorrow.
They need to create roster space. The M's have 25 pitchers on their 40 man, actually 27 with 2 on the 60 day IL. I can see them DFAing or trading a pitcher.
I can see them DFAing Ruben Alaniz. They got David McKay for cash, so they could trade him for cash/PTBNL too.

He has been ready for a week. Why would they not have a move in mind already?ice99 wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 4:06 pmSeager is eligible tomorrow. I'm not sure that they activate him tomorrow.

Re: Roster moves when Seager is ready
He doesn't have his timing down. Dipoto might not want to make a 40 man move at the moment.D-train wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 4:16 pmHe has been ready for a week. Re: Roster moves when Seager is ready
He certainly hasn't been tearing it up in AAA but doubt JD is worried about Seager causing us to lose a game because his timing isn't down.

Who did they take off the 40 man roster?
Edit. Just saw it was Sam Tuivailala. Why wasn't he on the 60 day IL to begin with?
