That is the one thing I hate. Murphy was a 140s OPS+ guy last year and a 116 OPS+ as a Mariner. He was only 4M. Seby Z had a 108 OPS+ year but is like a 72 OPS+ career. But in 2023 he had a 149 OPS+ in 17 PAs after a 37 OPS+ with Chicago. There is a tiny chance that Seby is good but I would feel so much better if we had Murphy in there vs that clown.

The Rays are comfortable with Caballero its opening day shortstop, Neander said.

I also had that thought come up when I saw the Wander News keep coming out over the last week or so. But, is Raley a 30 HR/20 SB per 600 PAs that he showed he was pacing for last year?
I don't know, but that 13% line-drive stat and his last 2 months give reason for pause.

It does but he is a lefty so should be less T mobile impact. Also his good D and speed will mitigate any offensive downslide.

Yep Murphy over Seby and Geno over Urias is only +$12M and we are still $10M under 2023 payroll. Arg.

Is this nitpicking? Dipoto doesn't say strikeouts, he says contact. It's the media that seems to have been saying strikeouts. And Garver makes good contact.

That's why I included garver's savant page. For instance his barrel rate of 83. He tends to make solid contact when he hits a ball. I'm looking now and teo's barrel rate is about the same. The one area that Garver stands out is chase rate.

I think they are a little better when looking at them analytically and better in terms of likability.
