Yeah maybe a Rule V guy. He has been in the minors for 6 seasons.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 4:24 pmI would assume that the there was no room for the Tampa guy and they were running out of options and either needed to bring him to the bigs trade him or lose him. That's just a guess though.

Our opinions change.
What I don't love is Jerry calling Teo "the big trade" of the off season. The trade was for a guy that had a sub $10 million value on MLBTV... that's the big trade?
If they're unwilling to fork over the cash to sign another big bat, whether that be the big SS's or another corner OF, how else are they going to add significantly at 2B or LF if not by trade?
Why Kolten Wong and why not Brandon Lowe? I hate that Wong was the name that got leaked... that should be a blip on the radar addition that pales in comparison to who they then add in left field if they're going the cheap route at 2B.
Why not try to pry Reynolds from the Pirates?
The team knows it just entered its contention window. Why do they continually aim so low and communicate that as their intention?"

^^^ Here was my full post ya clown. Including where I said that I HATE that they were considering trading for Kolten Wong, but ofc you ignore that because you're a dishonest hack.
I did love the Teoscar trade, but not in a vacuum... which is what it ended up being. Keep being dishonest though.
The whole sentiment of my post turned out to be exactly correct.

I don't get the point of the attempted Gotcha posts. Going back a year to find what people said about a guy before he just posted the worst full season of his career. Seems petulant and juvenile to me.

I wouldn't mind it if it were accurate.
If you're going to link my post as a gotcha, at least provide the whole context.
My whole sentiment last off season was that the Mariners didn't do nearly enough and the Teo + Wong additions were nowhere near enough as evidenced by:

This is following the Teo and Wong trades.

Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!

Anyone remember this gem?
He then posted twice over the next month while the M's floundered and returned when they showed some life...
Some would call mocking fans frustration over their team sucking in the early months and then fleeing cowardice.
How'd the rest of the 152 pan out Harmony? Oh right, they missed the playoff due to that early stretch. But please do lecture us.
Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
Yeah, the problem with last offseason wasn't getting Teoscar.
The problem was calling it good enough and thinking that Pollock/La Stella were going to put us over the top as the teams around us improved their rosters.
Not getting a real bat to DH, not adding a quality LF.
We all knew Teo was nothing more than a Haniger replacement .
We needed more. Everybody knew it except Jerry and his Apologist Apostles.
