WAY too many years for us to sign a Cy Young finalists. Crisis averted!!!!!!!!!!
That is Lance Lynn, Kyle Gibson, and now Gray to the Cards. I guess we can remove the Cards trade plans out now.
Yep, their rotation might not be very good but it is now full.

I could easily see the M's signing Yamamoto or Snell to help fill their pitching ranks. That would allow them to empty their tanks with Gilbert, Woo, Miller, prospects to TB for Arozarena + Paredes and sign them both to long-term extension contracts. They'd be cheaper than trying to sign them in free agency.

I wonder if the Giants could be the offseason dark horse and land both Ohtani and Yamamoto. The reasoning to go big like that could be that with Oakland relocating, those fans are up for grabs, that this is the chance to make the Giants the team for the entire bay area.

It's definitely not good, that's for sure. I remember seeing Felnin Celestin in Mariner gear for the first time, and that's what you hope to see.

Yankees have reserved number 18 for him
According to league sources, the Yanks have purposefully held the number 18 for Yamamoto over the past year. That is not only Yamamoto's number with the Orix Buffaloes, but is traditionally considered the "ace" number in Japan. Hiroki Kuroda, a onetime NPB ace, wore 18 with the Yankees

DH under Jerry Dipoto:

2016-2018 the Mariners (Nelson Cruz) were #1 in baseball in DH WAR with 8.5 WAR.

Since Dipoto decided a bat wasn't all that important and they could just "rotate" players through DH, from 2019-2023, the Mariners are 27th in MLB with -3.1 WAR from the DH position.
