Yeah Its so "wide open" that when he got here he was forced to play a position he has never played before in his career. They said "here go out and give middle infield a try" and he was like "oh wonderful now I can relax at the plate"bpj wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 2:50 am"Regular playing time" when you have Altuve, Bregman, Gurriel, etc. ahead of you and you're an injury replacement is a lot different than his situation in Seattle.
He went from fully blocked to wide open spaces and he's running like a pony.
I can't imagine it's easy psychologically knowing you'd have to outplay those guys during your chance. How likely would it be that Toro played his way to a starting role on the Astros? He knew that as well as anybody.
GT Brother, can you spare a win? 8/8

He's not at risk of losing his place on the roster even before Seager leaves, that simple enough to understand?Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:39 amYeah Its so "wide open" that when he got here he was forced to play a position he has never played before in his career.bpj wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 2:50 am"Regular playing time" when you have Altuve, Bregman, Gurriel, etc. ahead of you and you're an injury replacement is a lot different than his situation in Seattle.

I am not the one claiming a guy suddenly figured out how to hit because he got traded just because he has had 1 week of good baseball. he is 1 for his last 9 lets see where he is at the end of the season.bpj wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:46 amYou're embarrassing yourself.

Let's see where he's at after 5.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:56 amI am not the one claiming a guy suddenly figured out how to hit because he got traded just because he has had 1 week of good baseball. he is 1 for his last 9 lets see where he is at the end of the season.
That's what we got for 2 months of a relief pitcher.
We're not trying to win in 2021 so I won't act like it hinges on how well he finishes the season.
Two months of a relief pitcher you cooters are whining about. Boohoo.

If it is to be believed that psychology is playing a role in Toro's level of play, based on the assumption that he is now happier, why is it discounted with regard to the performance of players that were clearly unhappy following the trade?
