Well, his timing seems to be a little off. He should have hit 4 homeruns, and not the cycle. The cycle is for pussies with bad timing.

It's a pretty notable turnaround for a prospect. I can't think of a similar story inside the Mariners' organization, ever.Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 2:37 pmWell, his timing seems to be a little off. How about ketel marte? Not the same schedule, marte got moved before he figured it out. My point being, they are both switch hitters. I'm not sure switch hitters should be kept to the same schedule as regular onesGL_Storm wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 6:17 pmIt's a pretty notable turnaround for a prospect. Marte wasn't a failed prospect though. He actually made it to the majors and had positive WAR before being traded. Celesten, going into this season, was on the verge of losing most of his prospect status.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2026 6:26 pmHow about ketel marte? Another kind of interesting turnaround in the making is Dawel Joseph. He's in his third season in the DSL but has finally started to hit. He's old for the league at 19 but still kind of interesting considering how truly awful he's been.

Re: 2026 Prospects Thread
Marte wasn't a failed prospect but they gave up on him, the development was continuing. When you call Celesten a potential failed prospect, it's the same thing isn't it? You be giving up on him, trade him. I'm saying the similarity I see is switch hitting. Should a guy that's attempting to switch hit be held to the same production standards in development as a guy that isn't?

No way, I hit for the cycle last night too. If Celestin also started two double plays and a triple play I'm gonna be freaked out...
