Okay, so I think that right now we can look at Colt and say well, this isn't going very well but it's not that bad, either.

However, I checked in to see how all of our top prospects are doing and other than Kade Anderson they're really not doing well at all, especially Ryan Sloan who has been pummeled at Arkansas and really hasn't put up good numbers in the minors at all. Thankfully he's a pitcher and they just need to get his brain can catch up to his stuff.
Sloan pitched well in Modesto and then they moved him to Everett and he got shelled so they said, "Hey let's move him up to AA" where he is about 5 years younger than the average hitter. Shocking it hasn't gone well.

Regarding Emerson. He is a UNANIMOUS top 10 prospect in baseball by every single prospect rating service. I just don't get it.

Arroyo and Laz have not been great but both have OPS over .750. Laz hits a few bombs which he tends to do in bunches and he is in the mid 800s. They are both VERY young for AA and it is still over a week until we hit May.

Welp, probably too early to toot my horn on wanting Murakami... got knows in an M's uniform he'd have 1 HR and a 50% K rate...

God also knows a .978 OPS and 9 bombs would really be helping the M's right now.

He's also doing what he did in Japan... a lot of K's... yes. But also walking a ton.

Look at it this way: if we'd signed him he'd probably be hitting .160 with 2 dingers. Never underestimate the adverse effects on one's hitting ability when one puts on a Mariner uniform.

And by "he" I could well be referring to either player.

Murakami is now slashing over 1.000 with a 33% K rate, 22 % walk rate.

He is in the top 5% in baseball in xwOBA, xSLG, exit velo, barrel %, hart hit %, chase %, and walk %.

The only thing he does poorly is occasionally swing and miss.

Scouting is so stupid sometimes... imagine saying no to a guy who hit 60 homers as a 23 year old and judging him by seasons where he struggled with injuries.

Well good news is he was back in the lineup. Bad news is he went 0-5 and is down to .239/.764. For reference career 30 yo minor catcher Jhonny Pareda is at .344/.882 in 72 PAs in the most hitter friendly league in the universe.

imo he isn't even close to being ready to face MLB pitching. Cole Young was at .277/.853 in AAA when he was promoted and barely managed a .600 OPS last season.

Why did they have to rush to sign him long-term, did they think that in say, 4 years he’d be worth $200 million?

Totally absurd decision.

Think of all the unnecessary pressure on this 20 year-old kid!

I see Ackley 2.0.

And about rushing him to the majors, they did the same thing with Zunino.
