When you throw out of your palm it can come out like a knuckle ball and also stick to the flat part of your hand.

Not sure how a potential major league has gotten away with palm balling his throws. If you want any velo on a throw and for it to not come out like a changeup you should be throwing with your fingers. It's also more accurate since it comes off your finger tips and adds more backspin.
