Even though I looked at every Reds roster and figured that none of the catchers fit his description..it was still fun to play along.

He mentioned he was a minority like every other post. I guess he didn't realize we had access to the internet which clearly shows no minority catchers on the Red roster in the 70s. Another hint was went he felt great about hitting a walk off homer in the minors because it was a road game and he totally silenced the crowd. lmao.

I seem to recall, back in my lurking days, that there was a lot of speculation as to who he could be. I distinctly remember someone mentioning Bobby Tolan, without realizing Tolan probably would have needed two hands just to *pick up* a catcher’s mitt...

I'm glad we have this site and don't want to be a party pooper. But, there are a lot of people that posted on the old site that don't post on here and there was way more activity on the old forum IMO.
