So, apparently the Giants offered Ohtani the same deal as the Dodgers, but Ohtani wanted to play for the Dodgers because they were a winning franchise. That, and the fact that he deferred most of his contract suggest that he demanded (emboldened?) the Dodgers to get super aggressive and acquire all of the pieces for the best baseball team in the majors.
