The big question is what to do with Ford. I get it from both angles. Deal him & get talent back. Bring him up & IF he rakes your a genius, bring him up & he struggles, you've just lost your trade leverage. Gotta sell high on guys. Again no guarantee he comes in & just lights it up. I'd love to have him on the big league roster. But I'd also love more balance all around. Seriously if all's it takes is a 1B & a 3B, you bet your sweet behind I'm asking for BOTH Naylor & Geno. Also you got to wonder if there's guys out there were not hearing about.
It is bizarre. I can't ever remember there being so few guys on the block.
It's the expanded postseason.

It's interesting, I think there's going to be pressure on dipoto to do something at the deadline, but there isn't going to be a lot available and there isn't a clear cut area presently to upgrade. He tends to be active at the deadline, for all the criticism he tends to come up with something

fyi this is the 4th trade deadline with expanded playoffs. This by far worse than the first 3.

Ben has a .615 OPS and Geno has an .889 OPS Kind of seems like a bit of an upgrade. I agree Naylor isn't my of an upgrade but O Hearn would be at 1B.

I mean it seems at this point the only 2 names available are Geno & O'Hearn from the O's. Would they be interested in Hancock, Evans, Garcia, + a middle infield prospect. With us netting Anderson in the draft I figure we could pawn off an extra pitcher if it meant landing Geno.

yeah, I see Ben having a decent season at 1.4 WAR so far so it could be fairly incremental, would Geno continue to hit the way he is if he came back to T-Mobile. Passan thinks Naylor is the best upgrade for the Mariners, though pulling off the pair would be coup.
Weakness: Corner infielder

Best match: Josh Naylor, Arizona Diamondbacks

Though the Mariners are managing with Donovan Solano and Luke Raley at first base, upgrading to Naylor would transform Seattle's lineup for the better. Whether it's slotting him behind J.P. Crawford to ensure Cal Raleigh comes to the plate with more baserunners, or sticking him in between Raleigh and Randy Arozarena to do the cleaning up himself, Naylor is a high-average, low-strikeout slugger whose quality at-bats would help transform a solid Seattle lineup into something more.

Pairing him with Eugenio Suárez would plug both of Seattle's holes, and certainly the Mariners have the prospect capital to pull off the double. Considering the state of their pitching -- a tremendous rotation and a Gabe Speier-Matt Brash-Andrés Muñoz endgame -- the Mariners need only a depth reliever to feel comfortable. Upgrading the lineup is the distinct priority over the next three weeks, and executives expect Seattle to act aggressively.

And Williamson's contributions are almost all defensive. Suarez is fine defensively and hits way, way, WAY better than Williamson. This isn't even a question.

Here's a question for the board. Anybody untouchable in your eyes. Pittsburgh says Skenes isn't available but what if you floated them say a Laz Montes, Arroyo & Harry Ford + maybe another arm would they do it & would you do it.

Or how about Kirby, Harry Ford, and Montes for Acuna? It seems crazy but it also seems pretty clear that Acuna WILL be traded at some point.

If Geno is available then so is Naylor but I would prefer O Hearn.
