By the way, good call by SS on leaving Elias in there instead of taking him out for the sake of it. Paid off big tonight, guess Elias' slump is over.

I thought it was a great move to send D Gordon with Le Blanc at the plate. The steal worked but Le Blanc couldn't him to third but still a smart move imo. I was thinking of it right before he did it.

btw I think that Le Blanc blunder will go down in history as the worst brain cramp of all time!

Just saw the interview with LeBlanc. He said his mind was in the previous inning with two outs.

Tell you what, we've seen some things we've never seen before this season. Baseball always has something new to offer.

Dude, come on. You were the lead off hitter, the next hitter pops up and you run to second. Just fess up and say you screwed up. lol

btw how many games had we won without making an error or hitting a HR?

But that had to be the ONLY reason the idiot took off

The crazy thing is if he thought there were two outs, it was obviously a foul ball, why even waste 2 calories of energy sprinting to second. Either just stand there or walk to the mound to get ready for the bottom of the inning.

"3.08 Helmets
A Professional League shall adopt the following rule pertaining to
the use of helmets:
(a) All players shall use some type of protective helmet while at
bat and while running the bases.
Rule 3.08 Comment: If the umpire observes any violation of
these rules, he shall direct the violation to be corrected. If the
violation is not corrected within a reasonable time, in the
umpire’s judgment, the umpire shall eject the offender from the
game, and disciplinary action, as appropriate, will be recommended."

Question? I love that our guys are lickety-split fast but are they allowed to remove their helmets while running?
It seems to be a thing now. I'm just wondering if the umps are looking the other way or will it be an issue at some point?
I wouldn't even put it in the top 1000 of things this franchise has to worry about.
Yeah, but it’s a great point. All it takes is for a Billy Martin-type manager (ie superior knowledge of the rules, and who waits for the proper moment to question their lack of application) to call it to the crew chief on a play where the game outcome hinges, a la George Brett.

I can see that happening. Maybe not by a Servais, but someone more...cunning.

If it becomes a ‘thing’, then either the rule has to bend to accommodate it, or the rule has to be upheld.

I recall Matt Sinatro either got forced out at second on a base hit to right, or thrown out at home from third on a hit to left?

Wow nice job boys
So awesome to see the young guys at the top of the lineup sprinting around the bases all night. Mallex is growing on me.
With Fraley coming on, the Rays trade might be a good one.

I like the fact he played on LSU, an excellent program.

The main thing I remembered about Matt Sinatro is his exquisite pummeling of Paul O’Neill. :D
