Is his velo down at all? Maybe his spin? Is it just that he not locating it. His ERA isn’t bad, and his K rate is similar, but his whip is much worse and his bb rate is way up.

A few interesting notes about his stats. K rate is about the same per inning pitched before tonight, maybe better, but he had 45 BB last year in 180 ip, this year he had 19 in 34 ip before tonight, now 38 ip, so it’s double the BB rate per ip. BA was.238 before tonight, so it must have went up. Last year it was .200

Whatever it is, something is clearly off with him. He's not the same pitcher. And the fact he even hinted at shoulder soreness is a huge red flag in my opinion. I really don't think he's healthy.

Health wise, we've been extremely lucky the past 2 years with our starting rotation. It was bound to catch up with us at some point, and we're seeing that now. Hopefully it doesn't reach the point where one or more of them needs TJ surgery.
