And does Geno continue at that pace with a move back to Tmobile? Geno would be an upgrade but I am not sure it wouldn't be fairly incremental. He might add a win and who knows that win could be important but its not a train wreck that is the Yankees. Ben isn't the negative WAR player that we have put up with in the past
Geno has produced nearly as much as Cal! I do not think he'd fall off a cliff he would be coming in the warm months to a playoff team and he still has friends in that dugout and is familiar with the city and park. He thrived here before. He can again.

And fk all Chapman was in my offseason plans. Could you imagine if we had Chapman all year. But Boston has won 10 in a row so maybe they think they are in it.

Its not about Geno falling off a cliff, but how his game translates with a move back to Tmobile. The thing is, now you don't have to just speculate. With statcast you can take Geno's season up until now and transpose it over Tmobile.

Chapman had an issue at one point with domestic violence. I believe it was his girlfriend at the time. My guess is that this would rule him out from the Mariners.

Anyone have any interest in reacquiring Sam Haggerty? I always liked him. I realize he is a younger version of Dylan Moore, but DM has been awful this season. I wouldn't mind seeing #0 do a second go around with the Mariners. Great for pinch running or needing a bunt in the late innings. Plays pretty good D and can play multiple positions. Obviously, there are greater needs but you could sneak this one under the radar.

That's what worries me about him, in 2023 he hit .232 with only 22 home runs, an OPS of .714 and led the league with 214 strikeouts which is why we let him go. On the other hand, he's red-hot in 2025 and is hitting reasonably well on the road (although better at home) so maybe that will carry over to Seattle.

Here's a question for the board. Anybody untouchable in your eyes. Pittsburgh says Skenes isn't available but what if you floated them say a Laz Montes, Arroyo & Harry Ford + maybe another arm would they do it & would you do it.
take more than that, when the White Sox Chris Sale they got the number one prospect in baseball as well as number 67, Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech, as well as Luis Alexander Basabe and Victor Diaz.

Or how about Kirby, Harry Ford, and Montes for Acuna? It seems crazy but it also seems pretty clear that Acuna WILL be traded at some point.
No.

and that's really the only possibility of an improvement, they aren't trading for Arenado, anybody else isn't really an upgrade
Naylor has a good April with a .900 OPS. Since May 1st a pretty good .779 OPS. Raley has had a .814 OPS the past month. Naylor is a slug that is bad defensively. Giving up any sort of prospect for him is dumb.

yeah, I see Ben having a decent season at 1.4 WAR so far so it could be fairly incremental, would Geno continue to hit the way he is if he came back to T-Mobile. Passan thinks Naylor is the best upgrade for the Mariners, though pulling off the pair would be coup.

Naylor is redundant with Raley. He has an .817 OPS and Raley is at .814 the past month. Naylor is at 1.1 WAR in 369 PAs and Raley is at 0.6 WAR in 156 PAs which is obviously better. Naylor can't hit lefties either. Don't trade for Naylor. Passan is a dope if he thinks he is better option than Geno. Geno also brings all the intangibles of being a beloved former Mariner.
You think there's any chance we land both O'Hearn & Geno or just stick with Raley? As far as late inning guys who's our best bet the only one I've seen rumored is Fairbanks from Tampa.
Geno is more likely than O Hearn but O Hearn is a possibility. But again redundant with Raley and only a .608 OPS vs. LHPs.

I think the best approach would be to do a short timer like Geno for 3B, and do a longer term with 2B
Nats
#1 target 3.5 years of CJ A. 138 OPS+ 3.5 WAR
TB
Lowe 125 OPS+ 19 bombs close to 100RBI/runs per 162 pace. pro-rate of 10.5M this ear and or a 500k buyout of 11.5M for next year.
Cards
2B/3B/OF 2.5years of Brendan Donavan 124 OPS+ one the year 118 career
O's
4.5 years of Jordan Westburg 2B/3B 118 OPS+

Get a really good left hander to go with Gabe.

The top of the list is Chapman but even if you added Andrew Chaffin and his 146 ERA+ vs a guy like Sauce it would help out.
Why in the hell would the Nats trade CJ????? He isn't an FA until 2029. They like Young at 2B long term and he is starting to hit.
