Speaking of the Thunder. There was a ESPN article like a year ago, calling them the best positioned franchise of any professional sport. Basically they currently have a championship team but they also have like a ton of first round draft picks coming up on the next few years They've stockpiled them through trades. They should domo the next decade. I sent the article to my brother, he didn't respond
Every time they win the title Seattle should hang a Sonics championship banner at Climate Pledge just as a middle finger to the world. Seriously, DO IT.
Are you following the playoffs David? I'm keeping up with the Spurs - Thunder for the sake of my brother who I bore with my Seahawks blabbering. I've always had a fondness for the Spurs. Kinda like the Rays in baseball. They've got a player in Wemby now, pretty incredible. Funny following my brothers mood. The desolate post Tim Duncan period, tanking, unbelievable luck of winning the lottery, then the opportunity of drafting Wemby., what a chain of events. Now he's back to NBA heaven.

Anyway, this series, it's been like alternating blowouts, seems odd to me. Now we are at game seven back in Oklahoma. I just don't have a feel for it at all.
I've not followed other than seeing the scores. The game itself just isn't that entertaining anymore, the days of the Celtics/Lakers doing what they did in the '80s is gone forever and it's now a three-point shooting contest which is why so many games now including playoff games are blowouts. All too frequently one team gets hot shooting threes, the other team goes cold shooting threes, and the score gets away in a hurry. Game 7 between the Zombie Sonics and Spurs is probably going to be a blowout one way or the other.

I did notice the Magic scoring 19 points in the second half with the chance to upset the Pistons in the first round when they were up 3-2. That blew my mind, it's virtually impossible to score 19 points in one half in today's game and not only were the Magic probably the only team that's done it in the past several years, but they did it with a chance to clinch a playoff series as an 8-seed over a 1-seed. Chokes don't get any chokier than that.

OK, that makes sense, thanks. So not so much low post. I suppose they move the ball around more which could add some interest. When I think NBA basketball what comes to my mind is Kevin MaCale in the low post, that's what I think of, defender on his hip, dipping the shoulder turn around. That shot spoke NBA. I guess not so much these days.

I commented before, when the new supersonics hit the court they should spend their time just kicking the ball into the low post, possession after possession, dribble the ball up court and kick it in, just like the good ol days, that be cool, just do it!

I noticed last season, the Thunder beat the Timberwolves in five games. The game they lost was by 42 points. That seems kinda nutty

I saw 80s Lakers and Magic scoring 19 in a half and thought why is that a big deal. LOL

Has to be the two smallest markets in sports right?
San Antonio is like a three million metro area, Green Bay is like 300,000, salt lake city, New Orleans are like a million plus. San Antonio is weird, it is like this huge small town but there's a lot of people there
It's a big city, but not that big of a TV market.

The 3 ball peaked. There's a lot of action in the paint these days.

The only team I like is Timberwolves cuz of Anthony Edwards and also Alex Rodriguez is part owner which is interesting. He's always on the sidelines and they show him every game.

I'm not a fan of Wemby, but that SA team is young and great.

There's plenty of post play in today's NBA.

I could get behind a Sonics team for sure, but they need to be good. 2028 for the team but when will they be competitive? Having a team to root for is nice, but it's not really that much fun if they suck.

It took five seasons for the sonics to have a winning record. The Milwaukee Bucks on the other hand went 56-26 there second season. Then they managed to trade for Oscar Robinson and won the NBA championship their third season. That's because they drafted Kareem after their second season. What an incredible impact. It took Wilt chamberlain eight years to win a championship.

I view my sports consciousness to have begun with Kareem. I remember the day he committed to UCLA as a highschool player in NYC. Then his college and pro careers. It was a significant day for me when he retired.

Yeah, a starting basketball player is 20% of your lineup. A starting football player is 4.5% of your starting lineup even if you exclude special teams. That's why I see the Rams trading for Garret as a desperate move that won't put them over the top.

Super Sonics are gone forever. The new forum should be called new NBA team in Seattle after only 20 years of fucking around by Ghouls named Stern and Silver.
OKC is reportedly going to give the history back. 1979 Championship banner will go up in Seattle. All historical statistics will go back to Seattle.
They don’t have a choice. Clay Clay agreed to that as a condition of sale when he bought/stole the team.

Also happy OKC elimination week to those of us that celebrate.
